I assume many of you have seen this series of videos. I am enjoying it a lot and somethings are very insightful. This guy deserves some likes.
Agreed. Good quality videos and his content is only getting better. Lou is local to me and I have stopped by to see the project. Nice guy and a real enthusiast.
Agree that it has been getting better. I’m now on episode 21. Amazing what he is doing, a well documented guide for the weekend mechanic in us. I see so many youtubers get many likes for doing nothing. This guy deserves more.
Agreed. The Car Wizard for instance has hundreds of thousands of followers and I just don't get the appeal. His 308 project is a total disaster filled with mis-information yet people think he is some kind of mechanic god.
Fully agreed with the compliments to Lou for his 308 project videos. Very well done, and it's nice that he doesn't pretend to know it all. He relates when he has made a (rare) mistake and references his information and parts sources, including our forum section here. Gordon
Was totally unaware of this series - it's great content for sure, none of that clickbait nonsense. Thanks for sharing the link!
I've been watching him for a while. He does seem like a genuinely nice guy. And I also like that even though he apparently owns the shop he's doing most of the work himself. His "assistant" Terry seems like a funny dude too. I've been watching Jack on Number 27 too. Not near as in depth as Lou is doing but he ended up having some pretty serious isues to track down and fix. I like seeing guys doing their own work.
Trotter has some seriously valuable content on rebuilding brake calipers, steering rack and suspension bushings.
I have made it about halfway through this series and loving it. Very well done. Thank you Lou for taking the time to document just about every part of our cars. This is a must watch for anyone who likes to work on 308s. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Just finished this series, and I am questioning my previous work and if I should revisit some of it. Great work.
I have enjoyed the series as well. I watched his brake caliper rebuild a few times before I did mine. Joe
Go to the Lou Trottier channel, the videos will be in order with the occasional misplaced one. https://www.youtube.com/c/LouTrottier/videos
Lou actually put them all in order as a playlist. Just go to the top and start playing. They’ll be in order https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSGy9iWU4nLaqGv1FY1I_Cf1xpguG97_f
I completely agree on this. Great content and unbelievable job saving this car. Lou seems really cool, and the type of guy I would love to sit and have a beer with. I also wish I was local so that I could use that paint guy! OMG. Lou, if you are reading this, I think this group would love to help support you. If you still have parts you are trying to find, post the list and maybe we can help you find them. -T
Thank you Toby, When I took over this project I had no idea of the burden that finding all the missing little bits and pieces was going to be. But it is way it is. At least I saved a car that would have otherwise been broken up and sold for parts. Despite its history prior to my ownership, its actually a very solid little car. If there is anything I can't find or make myself I will certainly ask you guys. Thank you for the offer. Also, at some point I will generate a sharable document that details the contents of each video. I never meant for my videos to be tutorials, only a record of my journey. But surprisingly to me, many seem to have found some value in my ramblings, so I will try and help sort stuff out as I know there is a lot to digest. cheers to all of you. Lou
