The company I was referred to now says they can’t move my car from NC to CA.

I am in a pickle because I am ready to out process from the Army and I counted on the company to transport my 328. The plan was to transport the car to CA put it in my garage then get back to Ft Bragg to complete my out processing. I already bought a round trip flight ticket to take possession of the car in CA.

Any recommendations on enclosed transport across the US?

    Thank you

    Stephen

Thank you for your service! The usual suspects for cross country are probably InterCity Lines (a sponsor of this site), Reliable, Exotic Auto Transport, Horseless Carriage, JP Logistics, Thomas C Sunday. On last minute notice it will be a crap shoot who might have space, since that's not a very common route. I would contact them all.

I used a broker -- Angels Moving Autos -- to transport my car from Sacramento to DFW.

I had a great experience with them. I called them, and was able to get a scheduled pickup within a week. The driver called me at pickup. Sent photos of before, during and after loading. He also kept me updated on travel progress as he made his way to DFW. All-in-All it was a great experience.

Cost (3.5 years ago) was $1200. $1100 for car, and $100 for 4 extra rims, and 12 extra tires. All in enclosed carrier.

However, -- they are a broker and use independent drivers -- so YMMV.

Just to give some "beef" to my statement .. I have used them to transport 4 high value cars in the last few years .. never a issue .. just may have to wait for pickup depending on where car is .. the furthest was Colorado to NJ

Similar to the OP, I had a problem when Intercity Lines declined to arrange a shipment from Colorado to North Carolina, between two major cities. This despite all their claims about "coast-to-coast" operations. Now I use only Reliable and Plycar.

Yes and the car was delivered in good condition.
Also check out Uship for a number of bids on transport.

Be careful with these guys. I’m 1 for 2 with them and will not likely use a broker ever again. When something goes wrong as in the case where my spoiler was damaged, Montway was limp at best in getting the transport company to cover it.

I wanted to provide an update on my vehicle shipping.
Since I was in a time crunch and I did not want to rearrange my leave and flight ticket I went with Montway. They subcontracted the shipping out to Auto Trans Experts, LLC out of Spokane, WA.
The driver was very thorough when he picked up the vehicle. In both cases, pick up and drop off, he was within 20 minuets of when he said he would be there. He picked up the car last Wednesday evening and delivered it this morning. I guess I was lucky with the shipment since he then had to go to the Tesla plant to pick up a car and drop another car off in Lodi, CA.
I did not receive any updates during shipping so I figured, no news is good news.
I truly has a pleasant experience with my shipping and driver.

I concur concerning not using a broker especially Montway. They promise the world, take your money and then accept zero responsibility afterward. If there is a delay, they “can’t do anything about it.” When there is damage, they “apologize for the inconvenience but there is nothing that can be done.”
MONTWAY. Absolutely do not take the risk.

I had a great experience recently with Blackshark (www.blackshark.ca). It is a smaller outfit, but very personable. You can load your car into the trailer if you like. They are bonded for cross-border transport, but I am sure they will do US to US locations, especially if it is on the west coast.
