What tyres did he use in Q2? I assume this'll very much be a 1 stop race so if he used reds in Q2 he'll start on those...and then swap to medium or likely hard on his one and only stop...
With starting grid determined by the non-race quali race tomorrow, I don’t think the Q2 tire choice applies here, yes? So free tire choice? Don’t recall what they did at Brit GP. EDIT, found this: “During the Friday qualification session only the soft compound tyres can be used. For the sprint race, the drivers have a free choice of tyres to start the race. A pit stop is not mandatory, but the drivers are allowed to make a stop in case of punctures or damage. In case of a wet Sprint race, the drivers can use the intermediate tyres and the teams can return the used set and it will be replaced with a new set. All the drivers are again allowed to have a free choice of tyres to start the race. But the rule of atleast using two different compounds of tyres during the race applies.”
Another case of F1 shooting itself in the foot when hardcore fans like us don't know what's going on during a pretty important part of the weekend.
FIA could, instead, simply hand out 5-grid-spot (or 20 second race) penalties for anyone not making it around in the 1:40 second range.
Hope they can fix Charles' engine issue, he said that doing a race distance with the problems would be really difficult. He only has 2 engines left, and Ferrari are saving to take grid penalties in Turkey for the new spec engine.
They had to change Lec's PU to the 1st one of the season. Turning to pretty awful weekend for Charles.
What the heck?? Bad day all around. Now read that Leclerc not feeling well too as to the misery. WT-?
Who is our test driver? Illot? Giovinazzi? Kimi not in Italy this weeekend means alfa already occupied with Kubica... Imagine if Illot gets to drive the Alfa today and Gio gets a Ferrari debut. I mean of course Leclerc is the only one that stands a chance of a result but can you imagine for an Italian to get to drive in front of the home crowd in a Ferrari?
Well, the race will suck anyway, so who cares...but Antonio has been upping his game, hope he get's the place at alfa...
FormulaPassion reports that Charles Leclerc was medical center with nausea and a headache. Its yet to be confirmed but multiple sources report that Leclerc will do the sprint race. EDIT: Regarding Charles: "He was checked at the medical center but now he is back in the garage."
