Did a wheel weight come loose and smack it?

Thank you! I plan to talk to these folks. May be a better option for a few K more than used, and way less than new oem.

Interesting to say that as I was looking at my 991.2 S with similar rotors. A section of the weight came off on the rear. I noticed no damage to that rotor.

I don’t believe that extent of fracturing could be caused by gravel. It’d have to have been a very high speed impact.

Regardless, how it happened and helping you move the needle forward at this point are two different things. It wasn’t caught at time of purchase, so unfortunately it’s in your court now.

If you’ve decided to replace (as opposed to driving “as is”), hopefully someone here can get you a great deal. I can tell you that as time and miles go on, I’m less concerned about its imperfections (except those damn sticky buttons, which I fixed), and focused more on enjoying the experience. It’s a different mindset, really.

Hang in there, things will get better……

I assume the brake flush, and PPI performed right after the annual service (performed by same dealer) would have noticed, or admitted to the damage. I looked it over, but could have missed it. That said I have to believe it "happened" during my 1200 miles over the past 3 months of ownership. I am not concerned about the appearance of the rotor, only the potential catastrophic outcome if I keep driving it.

Understood. This site has been extremely helpful to me, so if I can help you, LMK.

I purchase a lot of Ferrari OEM parts from the same individual on eBay and can inquire about his pricing if you'd like me to investigate. PM me if you wish..........

Lance, the ST discs will work perfectly fine with the OE rears. I have actually driven the Pista with ST on both left wheels and OE on both right. Stopped straight and true. It was just an experiment.

But yes, you can run the ST on the fronts.

Shoot me a PM if you want the contact info for Craig @ ST.

Have you been quoted less than 7 grand for a set of Surface Transforms discs? By whom? That's very low.

They are full of it. But I can PM you pics if you need them. An indy shop can do all four discs in 30 mins.

You can also tell them that they are OEM suppliers for Koenigsegg and Mercedes, jusf to name a few.

The famed Ferrari F12 TRS has also been fitted with ST discs.
