Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!! Did you really use those words and Max in the same sentence? Loooooool! Even Jos Verstappen will get a kick out of this Lol!
I think the majority of upcoming tracks suit the Merc far more as well. Unless Red Bull now add the Merc style intake trick (since thats suddenly gone all quiet) on their upcoming engine...It's not not looking very favourable for Max.
Then LH will win #8. I think at that point he will leave on top as goat doing a rossberg. There is no value in winning 4 in a row like vettel then decline to lesser teams and fans wondering where’s the lost mojo. Look how fast Ricardo went from hero to zero back to hero.
Thanks for the video of Max getting out of the car, and again, maybe HAM can't see Max standing in the car and getting out, but if you want to talk about possibly injuring another driver, pulling out with the other driver standing in his car would have been bad. It might have been nice to have some marshalls out there a bit quicker, but of course those guys lives are at risk too. That on board replay shows VER tire going over the halo and everything, still can't really tell if it contacts HAM helmet. HAM said he'd likely go see a specialist to check on any possible injuries, after the Met Gala.
Let me put my conspiracy hat on for a moment. There's no way Lewis doesn't win this WDC. The story, the narrative, all the SJW stuff, all of it for the past few years has been this story. There's no other F1 driver going to the Met Gala rubbing elbows with "elites" and celebrities. He's the only one at this stage who is really known by non-racing fans. F1 wants to promote that at all costs. We've seen time and time again over the years that ..if you're going to be honest... there's a certain favoritism or at least a nudge to steer things Mercedes and Hamilton's way. I mean even last year, Merc come out with DAS which was clearly illegal in F1 by almost any standard and was judged so fairly quickly... but they were allowed to use it all year. Then this year Merc complain about the "bendy" wing... Lewis start passive-aggressively complaining about it in interviews in his polite and honestly... masterful... way. The result? It had to be fixed in two or three races I believe. Merc's "bendy" front wing... nothing. Merc's air intake... nothing. On their own these things mean nothing. But when you view these thing in total... literally year after year after year after year... it starts to look a bit odd. So if you give a team some sort of unspoken nudge and combine that with undeniably and literally one of the best drivers to ever hop in an F1 car, the result will be what they've been. I don't know what will happen if Lewis races next year with Russell. Will it really be even if they do? I doubt it. Somehow Lewis will just outrace him always "just enough" I imagine and part of me thinks they've already say George down and gave him the "your time will come" speech. BUT NOW, HOWEVER... if none of the tin-foil hat talk is true, I think Lewis wins this year and bows out. He leaves on top as one of the best to ever race in F1 and while there may be conjecture of what "would have" happened... none of it ever did so ... What I hope is that all of the above is BS and Lewis and Russel get to race for real on a true even playing field. I'd love to see that. The unknown is the car. Will Merc still produce the top car in F1 or will they get some things wrong?
LH stays per his contract for 1 more year minimum. He has 2 years on it. To drive the new car. I can see him leaving if loses title next year or loses to Russell internal
He only potentially loses to Russell if the prospect of an "understanding" doesn't exist. I think Merc was having a hard time with Nico "stealing" points away from Lewis during those seasons. Luckily, none of the other teams could even credibly challenge Mercedes in any consistent way. I'm wondering if we'll someday find out if there was some sort of deal made that said "Okay Nico, you get the WDC this year, but then you go away... quietly." These are just my thoughts when I open brain up to odd things that I'm ... well... and most of us simply aren't privy to. So sometimes its fun to let my mind wander into the rabbits hole of the sinister side of big dollar sports.
Russell is certain in his words he has equal status. The paddock rumors are yes but there might be 'management' clauses that can be used otherwise, if a "Rosberg" situation is developed. I hope we see equal overall status. Good racing between them of course. Wandering is what we do best as fans. We keep each other intrigued here lol
I can also see them telling Russell... "Look... you're career is ahead of you... Lewis needs to leave on top. Just accept that this year and you're our guy going forward."
They made this attempt with Vettel, he simply could not defeat Charles LOL. Hire him to drive and win, and support the team fully when needed. What else can we ask.
Yes my favorite team, but that charade of deal and so public was not optimal at all. You cannot hold back fast talent. Charles, Max or Russell potentially.
Max will win the WDC this season. And Lewis will not bow out - - he’ll be George Russell’s next year.
I'll say it again...."Mr. Saturday" hasn't always been "Mr. Sunday". Until the Spa qualifying 'win', Russell trailed Latifi on points. Latifi had finished ahead of him 2 of the last 3 races run. It's no given that Russell will immediately be great on Sunday behind the Merc wheel. He is a strong qualifier though
It's so close between Max and Lewis, 1 more DNF swings the championship massively one way or the other. Given Lewis/Mercedes reliability record, the odds are in their favour.
Agreed. And bottas has been a better wingman on average, then Checo has been for max. If that changes and Max doesn't have to go 1v2 mercs from here on out, Max's WDC odds certainly improve. Or maybe Max will just prove Damon Hill right and crash into ham intentionally.
As binotto replied when asked if max or Lewis would win the 2021 WDC, “the mercedes”. perfect response.
+1 I think Perez has only really been a factor in 2 races this year, France and Baku, just about every other GP he's been too far back for Mercedes to even need to think about covering him...
