Hello owners.. regularly was hearing about issues finding new tires for these cars. Did that get resolved, what is everyone using? Thanks
(hopefully not beating a dead horse)

would be good if you both could tell us what size you need. so if you still have the originals rims? nobody knows here except yourself what rims you have and what tire size you need

Every Testarossa calls for 225/50/16 Front and 255/50/16 Rear

We are refering to OEM wheels for size, I would rather not put aftermarket wheels on the car.

I would consider 512 TR wheels but my car gets weird about wearing its younger brother's sneakers

No, some TR have 415mm diameter metric wheels, but getting 16" tires and/or 415mm have both had issues in the past:

415mm -- very expensive and not readily available (Longstone Tyres is one source, but sometimes even unavailable from them).

16" -- Goodrich stopped making the 255/50/16 rear size for a while about 5 years ago IIRC (so I bought a set of the Toyo -- see posts below), but Goodrich started making them again a couple years ago (I believe they are used on some older Corvette, too). Not sure if they are still readily available as I haven't shopped for tires lately. The other option is Michelin's, but those are a little pricey (but not as crazy price as the 415 mm tires).

IME, the Toyo are great when new in the dry -- super quiet (since they have so little tread). However, when they get down to about 1/2 life, they get noisy when coming to a stop (made me think I had a diff/diff bearing problem).

yes steve, but those are nearly slicks when new and when half down only good for track, but not for "normal" drive ;), and when rain - forget them

Even when new, using the Toyo in the wet would be insane ;)

No choice but 'after market' now if you have the 415mm wheels as there are no tires left that fit!

Just a few years ago I put the BF Goodrich G-Force Sport COMP-2 in 225ZR/50/16 front and in rear 255ZR/50/16. They ride very well and while I while I haven't pushed it they seem to be a good tire. I haven't been in the rain in them and probably wont!!!

I have a set of January 87 TR wheels in good shape if anyone still has metric wheels.

I had bad luck with new Pirellis and after a few hundred miles they put new Michelins on and now its awesome. Pirellis for Lamborghinis and Michelins for Ferrari works very well.

I’m not sure, but I think there are two different size splines for the TR’s with center locks. I don’t currently have a use for the wheels since they don’t fit on my 308.
