I know this is an old ad, car has been sold, but I wanted to draw upon the FerrariChat brain trust and get their feedback on this car:

    https://www.worldwidevintageautos.com/vehicles/5313/1980-ferrari-308gtsi

I don't think I have ever seen those wheels on a 308 before, but I could be wrong.
    Wrong shifter " ball "
the seats look to be vinyl vs leather

    What do you see?

Very early 2vi car.....unpainted Plenum in engine bay and vertical clock and oil temp guage. Still wearing 80MPH restricted speedo!

Be interesting to see build date?

These were pre-Michelin TRX and Metric tyres.

Wheels pictured are off a Mondial, TRX (wrong obviously) and spare is "14 inch rim with Michelin XWX.

Seats and carepet are re-trims and wrong. External mirrors are aftermarket and has been repainted...should be black sealent line at rear of side window louvres on rear wings.

Thank you, this is what I am looking for, I appreciate your feeeback!

Correct, I happen to know where the car is now, and am looking for feed back as Grim offered above, on what things visually need addressing.

or other known historical information that may be of interest to others.

Incorrect horn button, painted A-pillars in semi-gloss, but not behind targa top areas by quarter windows, also quarter window louvers are painted all back (I think this year should have the silver highlights). Lots of after market speakers, like a subwoofer in passenger footwell and speakers at quarter glass. Some aftermarket switch (battery disconnect?) under front bonnet in front right corner area. Also looks like a repaired right front bumper, and the parking brake lever is bent.

Agree with all of Grim's comments, good call on the wheels including the likely original 14" spare. I'll reserve judgment of the aftermarket mirrors...

Car has arrived and project(s) started:

    1. Timing belt service completed w. new rollers, and aux belt
    2. All Fluids and filters replaced ( Oil, Coolant, brake, gearbox ) & replace spark plugs
    3. Brake calipers rebuild all the way around
    4. Replaced window switches to confirm windows work, but slow ( no surprise )
    5. New Battery
    6. Drained fuel tank
    7. Replaced Motronic ECU's ( internal short )
    8. Replaced shift ball
    9. Replaced horn button back to stock

    Projects to go:

    1. Suspension: 4 Shocks, front and rear bushing kit ( need lower front control arms )
    2. Engine: air intake boot, valve cover gaskets , oil pan reseal, and engine dist gaskets
    3. Gearbox: linkage O-rings/seals and sump reseal
    4. Engine cover struts
    5. Replace steering wheel due to leather splitting due to age ( saving original steering wheel )
    6. Front and rear bumper replacement
    7. Radiator surround insulation
    8. Repair center console and recover
    9. Exterior mirror replacement
    10. Replace wheels with either OEM spec or Reproduction 328 wheels
    11. Replace muffler box, current one is rusted out and exhaust tips are falling loose.

    Under consideration:
    1. Complete repaint of car. ( It appears to have already been done before and small areas of corrosion can be addressed at the same time )

It was a relief that the car runs and stops strong as-is , but I would feel more comfortable with all the above being done before taking an overnight FCA drive!

    Buckling down and getting started...

Parts sourced and ordered except for:

    1. Wheels.. I would like the OEM 14” or metric equivalent. Mostly for the ride quality having the larger sidewalls ( Please correct me if I’m wrong )
Tire price doesn't bother me so much.

    2. Muffler... still reading all the treads back past 2010.

I was going to suggest the 328 wheels for improved handling until I read BigTex's response. He likely knows, given all the 308's he's owned. :)

Do you have a source for the engine cover struts? ;)

328 wheels are totally different in appearance to the earlier wheels.

    Compare a 16" 328 to a 16" 308 casting.

    Here's something to ponder:
How many suspension parts are shared across the 308/308QV/328 series.
I suspect (although have not spent the time) not many..

I'm just saying having driven both TIRE sizes a long time, the 16"s lower the car and ride harsher, at railroad tracks and such.
16" more likely to damage in pot holes, too...

That Emissions Sticker in the jamb is easily damaged, if removed.......mine has migrated around of the years.

They are readily available and of course YEAR specific, should match the Production Plate and the Engine Tech plate in the back.

KONI will rebuild the shocks as new.

There's a shop in the Dallas area that does excellent work on leather steering wheels the did my TransAm. Garland maybe??

I would add cleaning the radiator, "rodding" as you can put the seals around it in place, but I always wondered how much "sludge" is in there after 40 years...

PM sent on wheels I was in San Antonio....Sam's Burgers

....ended up finding a local FCA member with a set of 14 inch wheels he’s had in storage.

I’ve already sent them off to begin refinishing, tires are on order... !

Watching this with interest! Can't wait to see if you look good in it. ;)

I assume that you changed the fuel lines when you drained the tank?

Do you FIT? You're a tall guy! My son can hardly drive my car with the top on.
If you don't like breakdowns, you should've bought another car! :D
