Beautiful reels, built like a rock when quality meant something. Remember the 60's Mitchel Garcia spinning reels? Same thing.

Thanks, I still have my Mitchell too, along with Dad;s 5000s.....

I was hoping the Florida guys would notice the sale, I stopped posting the last ones to let the Art Sale go on...

I will get the rest of the Long Beach Series up, and mop up with the Beachmasters, Delmar, Jig Master, Surf Master.

Many of these are still in box, and as I was buying the widow of the Founder of Penn passed away.
My boxed examples came from that collection and she had ALL the Special Colors!!!!

It's been fun......thanks for posting PeterS!!!
Even the tiny level winds are like handling jewelry.

My mom recounted only yesterday how Dad after WW2, in college (LSU) had a very meager tackle box.
    One rod, one reel
I'm sure that's what triggered all of this, my father passing..so long ago.

You won't find any of these Made in USA examples on a "quick trip to Academy' of course.

The Long Beach Series was discontinued in 1999, after a run since 1941.
They are not really rare, but one in perfect condition probably is hard to find.
