Colin? But of course. Another I should have thought of...... he and "my" team Now Ligier on the other hand......I gotta' disagree.

What about Lawrence Graf von Haugwitz-Hardenberg-Reventlow? He was team owner and driver at the same time
Equipe Ligier were very successful 1979-1981... and Guy's personal F1 record was certainly lacklustre.
I hear ya', but a second and a third, a fourth and less in the rest, in 17 years of competing ain't "very" successful to me......
Gurney is from Manhasset NY isn't he? I'm next door in Great Neck. Another famous person from Manhasset, or went to school there, football legend Jim Brown, 5 years younger than Gurney.
Dan and I were born in Port Jefferson. Speaking of Great Neck, many, many moons ago, while in high school, I worked in an office on Northern Blvd in Little Neck.
(edit: Or was it Great Neck? Before I decided riding my bicycle the 6 miles from Flushing was faster, I'd get off the Q12 at Northern and the White Castle and walk another 1/2 mile or so. The last time I was up to your "neck" of the woods, I drove by and the building was still there. In about '67, I also raced slot cars at the "Indy" slot car facility which was just past the WC on the same side (southern) of Northern.)
Not strictly your criteria, but a couple more of interest. Roger Penske of course was a capable pro-am racer...and entered a couple GPs with unspectacular results. Ken Tyrrell, Max Mosley, Eddie Jordan made it as far as F2 with middling results...
looks like he's buying Sauber after all: https://the-race.com/formula-1/andretti-expected-to-get-f1-move-through-sauber-deal/
I hope Mario has some involvement, maybe in PR or promotion. A return to Italy for Il Campione del Mondo would be epic.
I don't care who buys Alfa, just somebody please rescue it from more embarrassment. Either build a competitive car or get out of the sport.
