    Stop wasting your time, unless you've spent huge $$ with an AD you will NOT get a Daytona..you will just wait and wait..my suggestion, life is short, buy one on grey market new..it will still most likely hold its value..bought mine in January and couldn't believe i spent over $25K on a $13k watch but look at them today, $35K + .. i love this watch & wear it all the time.

    You never know; having patience, talking to people, checking into different forums, can go a long way. Just one recent excample, I ordered a vehicle that was supposedly hard to find anywhere for MSRP, with ADM’s of $5-$60k at most dealers, for 7% under MSRP exactly how I want it. Sure I’ll have to go out of my way to pick it up, but easily saved $10k if not more (depending on the state) which could go towards a Daytona.

    If you don't know Rolexes, then don't throw money at them until you learn more. The Daytona has had many different generations...some more valued than others for reasons that have nothing to do with their mechanicals. Take some time and some books and study them...reading as well as looking. Get on a few of the Rolex forums and read what others say about them. And get a sense of which model, with which configurations, you really want to see on your wrist. Only after you do all will you actually get your money's worth from the experience.

    Hope he did too, because I was thinking the same! MSRP $13,150 for the Oystersteel, used $26k to $40k.

    Two days ago I was offered a Daytona (yellow gold/stainless steel, black dial). The same one that is given to the winners of the Daytona 24 hours.

    I turned it down :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    I don’t think two tone Daytona’s are as desirable as the single metal ones. No need to feel bad.

    I feel fortunate. I bought a 2019 black dial Daytona in August of 2020 for $21k (on Chrono24). Felt ridiculous then but turns out to be a good decision. These things are nuts.

    Yup, that's the one. I'm just not into TT watches - I also had a TT datejust and never wore it - I ended up selling it to Tourneau.

    I was there as well and saw nothing but empty Rolex cases. The same is true at Tyson's Galleria!

    Yep, I meant Galleria. Same at their location by Tiffany's, nada, zilch. We were in Short Pump, VA by Richmond in that Rolex dealer the other day, they had 3 watches, 2 ladies, 1 mens.

    Got the call on this:
    I’m thinking that is too much gold. I’m going to go look at it in person, because pictures just aren’t the same.
    Anyone seen this style in person?

    I think it's white dial for Daytona, and black dial for Le Mans winners. They were white for the most recent Daytona 24 Hours. We joked that it is easier to win one, than buy one.

    I got my 116500LN black dial in under a year. Not bragging as I have not spent a ton at my local AD. Just saying it can happen. But I agree on the poster above. Life is short and so if something is desired and you have money burning a hole in your pants then nothing wrong with spending market value.
