Staying in downtown Boston for an upcoming weekend and looking for good places to eat for lunch and dinner
I don’t mind spending money as long as the food is good
I prefer Italian, Seafood and Americana
Hopefully the locals on here can help out
I don’t believe Yelp, Trip Adviser or Open Table
    Thanks!

Lots of good restaurants in the Seaport district these days, it's hopping there now.

I was in the Back Bay Area of Boston last week moving my son into college. We went to a few good restaurants in the area:

    Abe and Louise - American
    Saltie Girl - Seafood
    Stephanie’s on Newbury - American

I recommend reservations for wherever you go. I was surprised how busy all the restaurants were. Also recommend Little Italy for dinner. I like Mikes for cannolis but a lot of people like Modern.

Do you mean Abe & Louie's?? that is owned by the Atlantic Fish Co guys....which is also a nice seafood place. Never had a bad meal there.
Used to be a truly authentic regional Italian place in the Charles Hotel called Benedetto, but they lost their lease and closed. They have a sister restaurant called Giulia in Cambridge smaller similar regional menu.

Yes, Abe & Louie’s... stupid auto spell on my iPad. I also went to Atlantic Fish Co that same week. It was very good.

Everyone gave you good recommendations, the most important one being make a reservation, otherwise you will be SOL.

You pretty much can't go wrong in the North End for Italian, but I recommend Prezza and Monica's. Same goes for the Seaport , but I recommend Mastro's Ocean Club.

Oh, and the big argument is whether Mike's Pastry or Modern Pastry is the best. They are both excellent, but Mike's make their rum babas just the way I like them! :)

The good thing about Stephanie's for lunch is it is on Newbury St. and that is a good area to walk around.

Mistral- French Mediterranean and other interesting food- great food!
Ocean Prime in the Seaport -great seabass
Eddie Vs or Abe & Louis - American and steaks/seafood.
Saltie Girl - Seafood - great lunch choice.
Neptune - Seafood- small place with a long lines, so get there early for lunch.

On Hanover Street I like the little hole in the wall Ristorante Saraceno. Have been going there whenever I am in Boston for nearly 25 years. Right up the street from Mike’s Pastry too.

Wow. What a town Boston is!
Very impressed. The city is clean, friendly people and overall just a fun weekend.
Arrived Friday and tried to go to Neptune for lunch but it was 2pm and there was a line down the sidewalk. Went around the corner to Union House. I liked the old school charm but the food was average at best.
Friday night had dinner reservations at Nando’s in Hanover St. We really enjoyed it there. Good food and service too
Saturday night had reservations at Alantico
Hip trendy place, beautiful people inside. Great cocktails too
Good service but was disappointed in the food.
Stopped at a lot of small places too and had great food
I would definitely go back to Boston in the spring.
Thanks for all that replied to my thread
