It will certainly be interesting to see what changes Canossa Events will make to the Cavallino Classic next year. Not much has been released as of yet, but the dates are in place and the venue remains the beautiful Breakers in Palm Beach.

Concours participation is a major passion of mine, and the Cavallino Classic is one of my favorite events each year, if not the favorite. I’ve often discussed my thoughts on how I thought it could be improved, so it’ll be interesting to see what the new owners do. I’ve heard lots of speculation about the future of Cavallino, but I’m excited to see it foundational structure is intact, at least for 2022 (such as the agenda, venue, etc.).

I'm curious if any entrants or attendees to the Cavallino Classic in Palm Beach will change there plans to show or attend given the other concours that Canossa is now hosting in Italy and Dubai, particularly those who live in Europe.

    Zero.
Nothing to do with each other.
PS: Villa d'Este and Villa Erba is the same show, basically, same weekend.
Villa d'Este is/was usually Saturday and then the exact same stuff is shown at nearby Villa Erba on Sunday.

Just as an addition to what was said: 2021 will NOT have a public day at the Villa Erba according to their own website and the press releases....

Yes, Link is active (Cavallino)...yet Agenda portals all blank..."TBD".
Track Day could be an issue as PBIR Sold this summer (Walmart..Rob Walton..) so much for "passion vs $$". May squeak another year, or two?.. out of PBIR as these things take time to develop (sale/planning/permits/actual building etc etc).
I know other track venues in FLA exist....yet are further distance away. Thoughts?

Our Euro Friends 'should' be able to attend this year if the politicians stay the hell out of the way.

I brought #14029 to track day and had absolute blast.....recall only 13 cars even attended Track Day. Essentially unlimited laps; really got to know the car.
I'm sorry do not know how to post links, yet if web search will find nice articles/pics of event and #14029 '71 365gtb/4. Former Jimmy Person (Texas) , Tim Stanford has been servicing car late '70's.

    Best,
    Jack

    Jack-
I was glad to see Jimmy's old car being enjoyed so thoroughly- you looked like you were having big fun!
And Tim is the man insofar as maintaining Ferraris of that vintage is concerned- the car was always well looked after.

    Hi Ira,
Thank You for your note. #14029 was very well-received all weekend long as many participants knew and/or remembered Jimmy. We placed a pic inside car when on the lawn Sat.; JP with Straw hat in place, cigar at the ready....brought a lot of smiles & wonderful anecdotes "days of yore".

Tim & Tom (brother) were such gentleman through out all phases of me finally calling her "mine". Not too mention the stacks/years of service records & TS's first-person familiarity #14029. I could not have been more fortunate.

    Best,
    JN

The track event is planned to be held at the new facility at Opalocka. It's supposed to be world class for a private track. And from what was on the news the other night, WPTV in West Palm, Morosso is not yet "gone" there are people looking at buying it and keeping it a race track and an attraction.

If it's anything like the Cavallino in Modena that Canossa just put on, it will be outstanding. They have an excellent track record hosting these events.

forgive my ignorance, but the event has been taken over by another events company? Always plan to go to Cavallino with something, just wondering what has changed and who the organisers are now?

It’s now owned by Canossa, who have seemingly done many things to uplift the event. Time will tell. They own and manage premier Ferrari and other automotive events all around the world.

PBIR will be open one final season till this spring when it will close.

Hopefully this will mean one last Cavallino track day there. I can’t imagine having it at the Concours Club all the way down in Opa Locka unless they are offering helicopter shuttles. :)

That’s a 67 mile drive from the Breakers. On a good day you are looking at least an hour to get there. Factor in Miami traffic and it could take twice that. Getting there and back would be a nightmare.

It is by an airport so most will probably leave the transport and cars there and then fly in from Palm Beach.

    Too bad Sebring wasn’t closer!
