ya but the arrows could be on all the switches, also yes they do close manually of course but that won't make sense at all for me getting in and out of garage and car 2 times each time to close open and close again lol

My fit is very tight as well. I fold driver side only (mine are manual) simply by lowering the window, and enter tighter on that side so the passenger mirror clears (without folding).

that will be my plan if they are manual to try and make it work, i think i just have buyers remorse overall lol, love the 458 but not loving what i paid after just having sold mine a few months ago for almost $100k less ...mamaaamiaaaaa

There are definitely two different mirror switches on the 458--one with the folding icon at the bottom and one without. My car does not have the option and therefore doesn't have the icon at the bottom of the mirror switch. I have a lift in my garage that makes it a tight fit and I've been folding my mirrors in manually. I read in another thread on here that someone had their dealer retrofit the parts for the folding mirrors on a car that wasn't optioned with them, but there was no follow up on cost or what all it entailed. I would be curious to see how difficult and/or expensive it would be to retrofit.

well guys, car arrived, and the mirrors don't fold..all other functions work..i called the dealer and they set an appt to see if maybe its just a bad switch. it was a heck of a time getting into the garage today / if the dealer says the option isn't available you will see the car in the classifieds section soon lol..pretty upset at myself for not confirming it had the electronic mirrors first!

Congrats on the car first and foremost. I'm glad you are getting it checked out first and perhaps it can be fixed or if ferrari can install the hardware needed to operate that functionality. Do the mirrors at least fold manually...if that's the case, i understand it can be tiresome to have to manually close open after pulling in or out of the garage but at least it's doable. These cars will hold their value well and will eventually go up if you continue to hold them. I hope you enjoy it.

I’m really disappointed that it didn’t work out for you. I’ve been following this thread closely. I get that if you are already feeling some regret about the purchase then this was just icing on the cake. Sell it I’m sure you can get your money back. Then look for the perfect car. Life’s too short to regret stuff like this.

Full electric seats in my 458 with electrochromatic folding mirrors. Race seats in my 488 with electrochromatic folding mirrors. Race seats and electrochromatic mirrors in the F8 I have on order. There is not a separate option for folding mirrors so they must be linked to electrochromatic mirrors.

Folding mirrors were my only must have option given the extreme tight space I was parking in at the time. I broke the flimsy switch not once, but twice, and bought replacements on eBay. My mechanic installed both (and commented on the “quality”).

When the switch broke, the mirrors tended to flop around, so I ended stuffing toilet paper in between the moving parts while awaiting repair (works great, lol).

As I mentioned previously there are two separate part numbers for the switches, so while it’s possible yours could’ve been replaced with the wrong one (with the icon), I don’t think that’s the case. I hope not for your sake.

I don’t understand why such a necessary feature would even be an option on a car like this, being as wide as it is.

I just learned that folding mirrors are standard on the F8.

That’s great to hear, thanks for the info! I was about to ask if the folding mirrors were part of the electrochromatic mirrors or the full electric seat options.

Well guys, i always like to post findings / results in threads .. but seems Ferrari of Newport can't get me in to find out about the folding mirrors & canceled my appt since they had a covid outbreak and no appts for 2 weeks now..so can't post findings.

I wasn't totally happy with the color and the mirror thing has been a problem for me so someone approached me regarding the car and i just sold it to them and basically broke even ...so can't complain.

Racing seats + folding mirrors here. They are separate options. You need to have "MIH2" option for interior AND exterior electrick mirrors + homelink.
