NOT at the XLIV Torino Motor Show 1967 (which was held 2-12 November 1967). Rather the 2nd Annual Competition Car Show held at the Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia Museum in Torino from 25 February 1967 to 5 March 1967. Marcel Massini
Marcel: In the early 80's I visited Jacques Swaters in Brussels and recall seeing a blue 250LM with Dubai plates which had been converted to street use with a rear plexiglas aerodynamic rear deck engine cover. It is in your book, and was owned by Mark Derish, I think. I should have tried to buy it. Whatever happened to that car?
5995, owned at the time by a Brit named Mark TIPPETTS (not Mark Derish who was a car dealer in NY). Car wasn't blue but green metallic with a yellow stripe and Tippetts had it on Dubai license plates which in those years was rather exotic. Today LM 5995 is metallic silvergrey with French tricolore stripe and lives in Southern France and Monaco. Very rare LM, one of just three with LHD and one I drove personally in 1979. Here it is in the old paddock during the AvD Oltimer-Grand Prix at the Nürburgring in Germany. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login

The photo's of the long nose car with the magnesium wheels were taken at Larry Knack's house in Long Grove, IL in the early 1970s.
Back in the early 1970's, when working at Chinetti's, there were two LM's there for sale, and when sold, then returning for routine service, a Rosso Corsa with a black vinyl top, and a Rosso Rubino with a black vinyl top. I always thought those cars looked laughable! The chassis numbers were not important to me at that time, unfortunately. Gary Bobileff
Thanks, I remember Mark Tippets was the owner. Did not ask Jacques Swathers exactly why it was at Garage Francorchamps or even if it was for sale. I regret that now.....
