Great shots! Please keep them coming. I love touring Scotland. Any chance of learning the route afterwards?

    Many Thanks, RF.

No, that has been in the long term ownership of Paul Vestey for many decades and it was a joy to see him - and David Cottingham in the Comp Daytona, let themselves loose on phenomenal roads.

The Old Military Road is a brilliant drive. North of Perth (Scotland) up toward Nairn on the northern coast. Even if it’s a little wet, it’s simply stunning. And the road heading down to Oban from the north or west to Oban from the east are brilliant as well. Did those drives in a Frontline Developments MGB (900 Kilos and 305hp) in June 2017. Best drives EVER. Would be even more fun in the wet in a Lotus Exige 260 . There was a group of guys in their Caterhams having a blast in the pouring rain on one section. One was in a full wetsuit…and his engine was pumping out 400hp…in the wet….insane!! Stopped and chatted with them at a restaurant and they were having a great time!

There were 3 loops starting from Inverness, 2 of the days approached Ullapool from the North and then from the South. The other day was essentially from Inverness out to Elgin and back. The best of the days was all sunny and incorporated the A835 and then A832, a giant loop just south of Ullapool. There are so many glorious route options with almost no traffic at this time of year, but then the trade off, is the possibility of rain. My wife Alison, sitting in the passenger seat of the D type, with her head clearly above the screen, in the fog and driving rain for the best part of 3 days, was the real heroine on this tour.

Thank You so much Clive! I have a buddy who lives along the shore of Loch Ness, just near Castle Urquhart. I've romped around those parts many times with my trusty '47 Indian Chief. As I'm getting older now, I would prefer a Bentley these days though!
    Many Thanks, RF.
