Can someone give me an update on the Ferrari Daytona Registry? Looks like the most recent entries on the home page were 'o5? Thanks.
It became pretty much defunct 10+ years ago after its creator sold his car. I offered/volunteered to take over its administration along with associated forum, originality archives, etc shortly after, but requested terms weren’t appealing.
Let me also ask if there is/was a Daytona Photo thread? We are in restoration with our car and have a few questions about finishes, fasteners, etc
Suggest to call MPI Motion Products (Dustin Wetmore, active fchatter here) in Neenah/WI or Paul Russell and Company in Essex/MA. Both have done many Daytona restorations over the years. Plus there are several others too. And what is the S/N of the Daytona you are currently restoring? Marcel Massini
For some, while others wouldn’t have been included at all. The said Registry had “Originality” photo archives, but many included images appeared to offer considerable amounts of, sometimes unintended, inaccurate reference. This forum has a dedicated photo thread for Daytonas, but I would say over 90% of its content is not practical for originality correctness reference.
Why yes, yes there is. Only 102 pages https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/official-daytona-pics.31799/ .
Hello Marcel. We are doing 12699, the Dean car from Monterey this past August. We are taking it back to the original blue and converting it back to the 'plexi nose' original configuration. Can you confirm that the center hood panel under the plexi was generally in black paint? I would also like to chat, perhaps by pm, about 12467. As you know I owned it and brought it up to what we called the IMSA III spec. I have a question or two including why was the chassis a restamped serial number?
