Does anyone know someone who can rebuild and tune my CIS for my 85QV. Mine is so far out of wack it’s hard to drive and it needs rebuilt. Probably hasn’t been touched ever. Rebuilding the CIS isn’t that bad but the tuning is a different animal. I’m willing to ship the whole k-jet if need be.

Once all the seals are replaced and the WUR fliters are clean, a K-jet is not so hard to tune with a pressure gauge.

You first reset the cold pressure and hot pressure of the WUR. Cold pressure is well documented, for hot pressure see my post (https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-365-gt4-2-2-400-412-today.488990/page-9#post-148136419).

A] disconnect the meter safety switch (this will force the pump to run even if the engine is not operating

B] Test the flow that gets back to the tank (850cm3 / 30s).

C] disconnect one injector line from the distributor ans check that it is not sending fuel, turn the metering screw CCW in order to reduce the flow is need be.

D] Add some carburettor/injector cleaner in the tank and let the pump run for 10 minutes. This will clean the filters but also will heat the WUR that will reach its "hot temperature)

D] In the meantime check the system pressure (5,2 ~ 5,8 bar). If it is not within the tolerance, just add/remove shims in the valve (these can be bought from DeLorean)

E] Adjust the hot pressure with with a hammer as per my post !
    Control pressure without Vacuum : 2.7 ~ 3.1 bar
Control pressure with 550mbar Vacuum : 3.4 ~ 3.8 bar (you can test this later when the engine is running)

    F) Wait for at least half a day now you can adust the cold pressure
    Température Min Max
    10° -- 1.2 -- 1.6
    20° -- 1.8 -- 2.2
    30° -- 2.4 -- 2.8
    40° -- 3.1 -- 3.5
    (this is with 510~550mbar vacuum)
(reduce by 0,7bar if the engine is not runing, i.e without Vacuum?)

    G) Remove all the injectors and test the individual flow, if need be depending on your distributor, you may have individual adjustment screw on the meter head.

    H) Check the thermo time switch resistances to the W and G pins
    Below 30°C G/ground =25~40ohm W/ground =0ohm G/W=25~40ohm
    Above de 40° G/ground=50~80ohm W/ground=100~160ohm G/W=50~80ohm

    I) Check cold start injector (should work for max 8s) and auxiliary air valve (should close after 10 minutes when supplied with 12v)

That covers the K-Jet without Lambda system. If the OP has a US version 1985 308QV (K-Jet with Lambda) some things are quite a bit different, and includes some electrical items related to the injection ECU -- however, my take is the OP isn't interested in DIYing the repair.

OP -- Where are you located, and what version 1985 308QV?

Maybe that ditching the lambda and frequency valve would be a good start. I can really see the benefits and drawbacks of KE-Jet over K-Jet, but K-Jet with lambda is probably the worst of both worlds.

Got to agree however that if the OP does have such setup and want to keep it, he'd better get in touch with a specialist. Depending on the location, Combe Meca Service in Europe or CISFlowTech in the U.S? (Never tested CISFlowTech, but he receives lots of positive feedback from FerrariChat's US based members).

Evans Automotive in Ohio, USA can do the repair and tuning. They are known as a Lambo shop but are very good with CIS. They did the rebuild on a Countach fuel distributor and WUR I was working on and it ran really well when I was done with it. CIS Flow Tech can handle the rebuild but they do not work on the cars, just the units after removed.
