Oh yeh I guess I did forget to mention that in addition to great handling and phenomenal brakes we also have a wee bit of acceleration at our disposal.

    I’m going to be honest
I could drive the 488 daily for maybe a week but I don’t know if I could do it like on a regular basis.
I find that I am much more excited driving it when I didn’t drive it for a while and I crave the power and the feeling it gives me when I get into it.
It’s reliable, somewhat comfortable (not Lexus or BMW comfortable) and very fun.
But I’d keep another car on hand.

Can you describe why the Huracan was a better DD than the 488?

    Hi guys,

I'm also looking to get in a 488 as a daily, and was pleasantly surprised vs my current AMG GTS on many aspects:

    1. quieter than the AMG when you want to relax, and such a different note when you want to hear it
    2. softer than the AMG, although that's not a high bar to clear - the Merc is quite stiff
    3. quite roomy cabin, plenty of headroom and a very airy cabin. The GTS has a glass roof that I didn't miss at all in the short test drive I had
    4. easier entry/exit. I think the door opening is just bigger, it felt so much easier getting in and out of the 488.

I think it's definitely going to be an adjustment, and as I'm planning to do some proper mileage I'll miss heated seats, the active cruise control with stop&go at traffic, and probably most of all a freaking armrest in the middle :D For reference I'm doing about 60km daily for work but it's a nice drive, and if I take the back roads it can be an amazing ride, so I won't feel I'm wasting the car on grinding commutes in city traffic. In the 15 months I own the AMG I've clocked something like 15k Km and that's with a lot of home office and a newborn at home (the Quattroporte takes care of that).

Since I got in the 488 and did a half-hour test drive around some twisties and a limited highway stint, I haven't stopped thinking about it. I don't think I'm going to miss my AMG, the 488 has kind of ruined me already and took me from "but the GTS is so nice and such great value", to "I need this, I need this, I need this now".
