So talk about it, no pic of the failed part or just fix it with no thread? Funny everyone wanted axerunners pics and were merciless on that. Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Never heard that before. E.G. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/major-failure-f355-broken-prop-shaft.518898/

Safety first! Something about Statics class and Physics class is rummaging around in my head right now....
The whole thing is a bit precarious. I realize those rear jack points are where they are, because anything further back blocks the ability to drop the access panels, but the car is a bit of a teeter totter if you don't weigh or tie the nose of the car down. I also used ratchet straps running from the tops of the front pillars of my 4 post lift to eye bolts in the 2x4s in the wall of my garage to keep everything upright. Those jack points below the rear corners of the doors ARE the rear jack points. If you're jacking the car up for something routine, you can stick a jack stand under part of the rear subframe, but if you are dropping the engine, all that subframe is coming out with the engine. When the engine/subframe is out there isn't much left aft of the gas tank...a few spindly bits of tubing holding the rear fenders and tail lights is it. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
ugh I am doing that this weekend. Try this, the housing o-rings slide into the groove on the seal housing then slides into the head, the edges where the cover meets the block pinches the o-ring. Use a small file and round those sharp outside edges over a tad and it gets filled with honda bond when you dab those corners. Most leaks come not from the seals but the o-ring nicks when that happens. Also make sure the gasket is not touching the 0-ring it too will cut into it I have read. There are 2 TSB's on how to modify both the valve cover and the seal housing to mitigate the problem I think one was SB 10-31.
Thanks, I'll search for the TSBs. I did smooth out the edges and used honda bond. It took a few weeks before I started noticing the leak. Haven't pulled the valve covers off yet to inspect. Hopefully there is something I can do while the motor is in the car. Otherwise, I'll just live with it for as long as I can stand it. Having too much fun with the car to pull the motor again.
If it's in the car what you can do is pull the valve covers off and round that corner then snip off the o-ring and slip another one through with the gap on top and put the valve cover back on after you dab the corners Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app

Very nice, I see that you too have the "loud" pipe! Doesn't that produce her most glorious sound when running through the gears. Love it at idle too. Save the ears!
My car is tracked about a dozen times a year and driven quite a bit locally. This last major from which I posted (from last winter) was after three years, and resulted from a metallic ringing noise I started hearing from inside the front cover literally during the last session on the last track day of the year at Lime Rock. Turns out the fence on the main cam belt drive sprocket had come apart. All of the cam sprockets I had tacked on at the last major three years prior. Good thing I heard it and quickly shut it down. Keep your ears open, folks! Juan- been following you on here since I started looking to buy a 348 Ch years ago and love your car. We should try to organize some kind of 348 Challenge gathering around a bigger event. It's so rare to see them out and about! Image Unavailable, Please Login
That would be cool! Small club it is. Was fun to see the club racing a few years ago Houghtaling did. . The only issue there was the newer cars are so damn fast, so more dangerous with the difference in speeds. I think these are great rally cars, maybe one day we will see one in some of the rallies that accept newer cars that are now becoming classics. BTW isn't this just the best handling best sounding car you have ever driven? So connected to the road.
