I saw something interesting the other day on the subject of mileage and exotics. A gentleman was selling a Porsche GT3RS, and it had super low miles. Everyone starting lamenting how the guy hadn't driven it when it was such a great car, etc. etc. He gently responded that it was possible to have too many cars to drive. I called him about the car as a potential buyer. I learned that he had a large number of cars; far too many to drive regularly.

I have a small fleet of super cool cars (11). I feel lucky when I get to drive any of them. To have 4900 miles on my Pista is a major achievement for me, and it shows just how much I like to drive it. I've put far less miles on my other cars, for sure. And it's not because I'm trying to preserve them.

I repeat, it is possible to have too many cars. :)

I believe you missed the point; if you have multiple cars as mentioned previously, mileage is spread among many. Most are weekend toys…do the math.

I think it is possible to have too many for two basic reasons: 1) the cars begin to own you and 2) I can’t “love” each car as much when there many others. For me 4-5 is about right.

whenever i've had lots of cars (for the same function) I've just always found myself prefering to drive one or two more than the rest which get unused

Having a super car and not driving it is like being married to a gorgeous woman and not ….

Image Unavailable, Please Login 1000 Miles since January. It's my favorite Ferrari purchase. I split my driving between a new C8 and ZR1. I have never regretted trading the 812. Very happy to have a F8 inbound and driving the V8 Ferraris.

1000 miles in 10 months is 100 miles per month. 3 miles per day. Hopefully you are following Cadster in the other endeavor.

Unfortunately, I spend more time driving :(

I have two weekend cars that probably won’t exceed 2,000 miles collectively in a year. Besides splitting miles, sometimes it rains on weekends, sometimes I have other plans, sometimes they are in for extended service (looking at you Diablo) and there are times I just want to stay home.

I don’t know how you guys with 5 or 11 cars in a “small” fleet manage them.

What was it about the 812 you did not like?

Loved the 812 as a GT car but missed the smaller lighter more nimble aspects of the V8 Ferrari models.

When you have too many cars, you have to pay people to drive them. Either depreciation or payroll you still have to pay to play.

Ok this thread almost made me cry. Heres a better question? Whats the floor on these with 10-20k miles? I wouldnt be able to own this car and not drive the piss out of it, its too good and there really not much out there which compares in terms of driving experience
Im getting my first F car next year (F8). Sticker 334, driver spec with no BS (buckets, important carbon stuff, led wheel with big paddles etc). I mean whats it gonna be worth if it gets like 20k miles in a few years? 230-250? I would imaging even a stripper spec pista with big miles wont go under 300 pretty much ever. Thats why i dont do bloated specs on my cars because i need to drive them. I would want to spend 100k over 3-4 years to drive a ferrari like a boss. Thats not even that bad. You can lose 50 grand on an s class mercedes in like 6 months

If you don't like hybrid cars, put a tape in front of your odometer and drive with them as often as possible since you will keep them.
