    Hello

Have a look on the last opus of the famous English agent.
During the real first minutes, you will have a surprise !

Will do, but only when it will be aired on TV, that is in about two to three years; the reception of the movie in France by the press, etc...has been "rather lukewarm", to say it the British way (= understatement)...
(And the title of your thread is a spoiler, by the way: we won't have any suprise, because we already know by reading the title...)

    Hi Mark,

Yep; ticket sales here are very disappointing for a first week, and appreciations go from: "not a Bond movie, but a soap opera" to "there is nothing in that movie that has'nt already been better filmed in the other Daniel Craig Bond's movies", just to quote the most charitable...
So the 308GT4 will have to wait...

The thread title is a slightly incorrect quote of the film's title, which is actually: "No Time To Die".

Using "Not" instead of "No" makes little difference to general meaning of the title, so it's no more a spoiler than the film's actual title, which is openly displayed and advertised everywhere.

Sorry Phil, it's the "308 GT4" in the thread title that is the spoiler: if one mention the car by its name already in the thread title, then no need to say in the post "you will have a surprise", because we already know what it will be?

(And again, and I don't know why, the film is not advertised much here; don't ask me why, but it did not catch up here; I shall check the ticket figures to see how the public reacted to it, but the press, critics, etc...didn't like it at all)

I have to agree. It's closer to "OnHer Majesty's Secret Service" than any other Bond movie. Very disappointing. Music is ok, lots of pointless action.

The true surprise is the Maserati Biturbo that tried to run him down. How did they find a running one to make the film?

My wife and I enjoyed the movie. It has constant action, a reasonable plot and nice scenery. What is the name of the town from the opening scenes? The only thing missing was Dr.Fauci.

Goes to show ....just like cars .... what people like or don't like is purely subjective. There is no right or wrong :)

it’s actually a Maserati Quattroporte IV, produced during the Ferrari/Maserati collaborative era. that’s how! Granted the AM578 is a biturbo V8 but a whole world different to those produced under De Tomaso.

Shame there now seems to be one less of them…..

    best to all. M

Have any of the Bond movies been good movies? Entertaining action films with great scenery and cute one-liners but I would rate any Bourne movie far above them in the same genre.

Thanks Freddie 328! When I didn't get a response right away I did a "google" search and found that it was Matera, Italy.

I liked OHMSS! It was their first attempt at an actual plot that made Bond human - impossible, of course, because we don't want him to be. The skiing was sensational, and DBS wasn't too bad, either.

Casino Royale (2006, Craig's first appearance) was an excellent movie, very Bourne-esque, especially the first act. I had such high hopes! Kind of down hill since for the Bond franchise, culminating with the woke dumpster fire that is "No Time to Die."

I waited for all the credits to see if "JAMES BOND WILL RETURN." Unfortunately, he/she/they/it will. 007 is dead to me, once and for all, regardless what human form continues as MI6's finest. Killed by political correctness. RIP.

At least I now know what "Q" means.

We already knew that! ;) (I haven't seen the movie yet, but your hint did show up in a trailer) It's short for "Quartermaster", a military name for a supply officer in charge of providing quarters, rations, clothing, weapons, and other equipment.

By a similar token, "M" is said to be assigned to the head of the Missions Department, but at various points in the Fleming books and films it is the initial of the surname of the head of MI6.

    Cheers,
    Gordon

Gordon, I'm well aware Ian Fleming meant Q for Quartermaster. It means something else now. My politically incorrect humor apparently went right over your head.

Sorry Mark, I did get your joke - I included a wink and a comment about your hint being glimpsed in the movie trailer. Apologies if I seemed to miss it while diving into pedantry!

    Cheers,
