Just pulled the trigger on a nice very late '93/'94 512TR with 34k km on it (Red/Black), VIN ending in 97691. Car has been stored for the previous 7 years in Germany and is now getting imported, comes with a Fresh Major from a trusted entity.

Has a few cosmetic cleanups needed, but I intend to actually drive the car and make filfthy anyways.

Congrats! And glad to hear that you intend to drive it. My '92 just turned 123,000 a few weeks ago - this month marks 22 years of ownership. They are made to be driven!!
    Cheers

Betcha 50 cents you already have the SN memorized.

Congrats - nothing else like it. Enjoy!

Yes indeed :) And there is nothing like it. Your car is probably missing the only thing I really dislike about mine - the mouse track shoulder belt. Cheers

Yes that's why I bought it in EU. Also don't like the USA Mousebelts.

As my first question - cam covers are getting repainted during the engine-out. Anyone have paint recommendations here?

    Congrats on the purchase!

Also I just noticed that you are in CA. I wonder if you will have to jump through extra hoops to get it certified.

No extra hoops, 25 year rule. Car isn't going to my CA house at first.

Quick Vid of the car (sorry the guy inspecting the car wasn't taking glamour shots but monitoring things for PPI)

No kidding, but at 6'2" and long waisted... I remember once Tom Shaughnessy said I could sit in a 365 Boxer. Nah, not even gonna try.

It’s a diet that allows you to lose lots of weight quickly and not feel very hungry. Very close to zero carbohydrate intake so your body begins making glucose via ketosis.

I am half an inch taller, also long-waisted... and I fit fine in my TR with room to spare. My old 328GTS was more snug.

    Congrats on the pick up.

Your car has newer SN then mine (SN 97598). The 94-spec cars have some of the best/most robust parts factory parts of all TRs.

Interestingly your car still uses the older style Pininfarina side-badges from the video. I also spy a silver gear knob vs OEM black (I use an OEM 512M silver knob in mine too). Also looks like aftermarket fender shield, though that may be a video resolution issue.

I recommend ditching the pre-cats and installing a tubi-precat...though I am not sure if Euro-cars had a different pre-cat setup then US cars. Also if you have OEM floor mats I would store them and use aftermarket for regular use. OEM mats are getting harder and harder to find in good condition.

These cars are lovely and I am glad it is going to a good home.
