Might I ask where you found the part? Always looking for good parts sources for future needs.

Ah, yes, well….unless there is an MGB (or Ford/Chevy/etc.) equivalent, then you are paying for a Ferrari part and ”ouch” is usually my first thought. Glad you were able to procure one.

    Thx Kevin
I know a guy who can make the part out of brass then chrome it if the need is ever there.

Good to know those kinds of guys!

I think I should take apart my car, scan all the parts into 3D files for 3D printers, and then put it all back together again. That should keep me out of trouble for awhile. Then just get parts printed when I need them. I know it’s really not that simple, but I like the idea.

It’s so much different with my Jag which is four years older than my Ferrari. Due to the volume of E-types made (vs Ferrari 330 series cars), most parts are readily available today. Makes life a lot easier when working on the Jag. Of course, as with all cars new or old, the quality of parts varies widely by supplier and sometimes there’s quality variation even within the best of the suppliers. And so it goes.
