I am replacing the battery cable on a F355 which i thought would be a simple job, but the cable seems to route tight under the HVAC evaporator unit and impossible to get to.

Anyone replaced this cable, do i need ro remove the evaporator unit or is there any other way?

Strange, the parts manual suggests that the cable should go nowhere near the HVAC unit.

(except on RHD cars where the passenger footwell relay panel is on the LHS)

Are you looking at the correct cable? One of the cables on the footwell relay panel battery bus terminal goes to the forward luggage compartment relay panel, so it has to go across the car to the left.

(EDIT) The engine bay battery "+" bus(s) bar is also attached to the passenger footwell bus bar, so the wiring may also go to the left before going to the rear.

It's hard to tell from the parts manuals

Yes it's cable 48, it goes right under the evaporator unit, it's seems impossible to replace it without removing the evaporator.

Found the cable in electric diagram, very strange route in my car, noted red arrow in picture.

I see what you mean. According to your diagram, the cable runs well inboard of the ABS relays

Does it seem to be secured to the floor (under the HVAC unit)?

I was expecting the cable to be red.

I guess the cables are to rigid to be pulled through with string. Can you see the hole from the relay panel side?
