What’s everyone’s thought on the F8 tributo holding its value over the next three or four years ? I’ve paid a deposit on one at £225k and starting to feel uneasy about the figures I’ve been quoted.

It’s the last V8. It’s not being replaced. The values here are crazy high. So if they come down the prices will still be good. What are you being told?

comparing to what g63 amg and other benz there getting 75k to 250 k over sticker f8 is still not crazy over msrp but that might change in the next few years being the last v8

My 458 had base stereo and was trash, just embarrassing with passengers. F12 with the upgrade is excellent. I would get upgrade if you're going to use it.

Thanks. Hopefully those ‘specific design seats ‘ will be good then. I don’t think I’ll be going on tracks etc lol.
I’ve been looking at 488 prices for 4 and 5 year old models to try and gauge the future value as I don’t want to lose more than 20% of my deposit. Hard to gauge future value. Ferrari seem to depreciate more than Porsche from what I can see?

Hope so. Thanks. As a first time Ferrari buyer don’t want to lose majority of my deposit when sell or trade up in three to four years.

There is not much information about UK Ferrari finance here but if you look over at Pistonheads there is a consensus that specialist brokers can be cheaper with fairly regular threads discussing Ferrari finance options

With all due respect, I think you are approaching this all wrong. In my opinion you don’t buy something like a Ferrari or any other exotic hoping not to lose a certain percentage. You buy these cars for the pure love, enjoyment or the fulfillment of a dream and then just enjoy!! If you buy an F8 constantly worried about depreciation it will become a garage queen and your enjoyment of ownership will be greatly diminished. I think you might need to reassess what your goal here is. Are you trying to invest in an asset in which case you need to do something more predictable with your money or are you purchasing a vehicle for your enjoyment which by all accounts historically has to be considered a depreciating asset. (Except in this current economic climate). No one wants to lose money for sure but in my opinion that can’t be your singular focus when buying a Ferrari.

I'm also in the UK and having owned a few Ferraris hopefully can contribute to your dilemma. Based on your FFS finance above the 5.9% APR is competitive enough without need to shop around. Only Lombard will undercut this to a significant degree however you need to be a Natwest Business customer to get the best rates.
In terms of your depreciation worries do you mean not wanting to lose more than 20% of your £35k deposit ? If that is the case then you need to reconsider your purchase as i guarantee if you took your F8 back to the dealer six months after ownership I fully expect you'd lose your entire £35k deposit not just 20% of it. Ferrari main dealers treat their customers like royalty compared to tight fisted Porsche dealers however it comes at a price. That price is the large margin they make between Trade and Retail prices which are typically 10-15%. Since you intend paying 16% deposit then that's pretty much all gone if you trade in at some point.
Assuming its an used F8 for £222k which is a good price depending on what it cost new. If its over £25k less than the original new invoice cost then you might get off more lightly than my figures above but nowhere near to your £7k loss over 3 to 4 years.
This is based on my own personal experience in buying and selling Ferraris in the UK so please take it with a small pinch of salt. However never buy Ferraris through rose tinted. glasses

Appreciate that. Just don’t want to lose too much of the deposit over and above the monthly payments lol.
    Looking forward to owning it.

    Good points
Some good points Chizz. I enjoyed my Speciale for 6 years, it is a spectacular Ferrari, but I was held back from enjoying it to the full as it was so mileage sensitive and also a little too focused for longer UK road outings. (Harnesses, fire extinguisher, no soundproofing, radio). So I let her go and got into an F8 Spider with eyes wide open. It will depreciate harder but I am enjoying the extra refinement, comparable performance and the spider experience and 7 years inclusive serving, without even thinking about how many miles I’m going to put on her. I’m enjoying it so much more as a result! Some people won’t get it, but for me it’s been a great transition.

488 Spiders are looking great value at the moment in the UK with a very similar experience and having taken the initial hit, so maybe look at one of those too if you are weighing up the initial depreciation.

The US is seeing overs at the moment and often we see the UK follow the pattern but it’s not happening over here atm.

I think I've sat in that very F8 only last week if its the same one. If it is the same one then its absolutely stunning with a very high spec with all the exterior Carbon including the diffuser. Its a hell of a lot under its new invoice cost and a bit of a bargain if you ask me. Its probably because winter is upon us and i believe that F8 would have sold for a lot more a few months ago.
