    Dr. H.:
    Since April 1972 I think.
Who fixed it after the damage in Cleveland?
Any plans to bring her back to original color?
    Thank you.

    Marcel,

Nice to hear from you. We haven't spoken since you provided the Massini Report for our Lusso. For anyone considering a Massini Report, I highly recommend Marcel's services.

    To answer your questions:
-Colour Restoration did the body and paint work.
-No, we like the dark red much better than the original marrone.

    Thanks

Have noted most Lusso's have white faced gauges, and a few with black faced gauges; any reason? I think the black faced gauges look a "little" more modern, but both colors look great!

I do not know if other contemporaries came with the "white" instruments. Typically, there is a "fondo chiaro" notation on the chassis page of the build-sheet.

    This is 4955 GT.
2 February 1968 Count Michel du Verdier de Genouillac, aged 23, murdered his former girlfriend, 37-year old Austrian-born Princess Aliette de Rohan, and then drove with this Blu 19391 M Italver 250 Lusso directly to the Police Station where he surrendered and then in 1971 was condemned to 20 years in jail.

Photo below shows the same car four years ago in Switzerland.

1 February 1968, I think. He set the appartment on fire to make it look like robbery, and drove to the police station the next day after soberging up a little, if I recall right. She got upset because he was spending too much time in strip bars and in heat of the argument sprayed maze to his face. He then hit her with a whisky bottle.

« After the confession: Count Michel du Verdier de Genouillac is sitting exhausted in Inspector Poiblanc's room. It's all over for me. I smeared my family's name. I acted like a terrible animal. I never want to face my parents again." Then Michel looked at the inspector sadly: Well, inspector. Surely this is the first time you have shaken the hand of a murderer with such a distinguished name. With his blue Ferrari sports car (on the right) was on the night of the murder, the car was parked in front of the apartment building where Aliette de Rohan lived. »

Does paper trail exist or how was the claim of Verdier-ownership made in the first place?

I never said that Count Michel du Verdier de Genouillac personally owned Lusso 4955 GT.
In post 285 I wrote: ........and then drove with this Blu 19391 M Italver 250 Lusso directly..........
I did NOT write.........and then drove with HIS Blu...........
"His" and "this" is not the same.
Verdier never owned 4955 GT. He had this Lusso on loan from René More in Paris (who got it 10 October 1967). On 26 November 1968 René More sold 4955 GT to Michel Delbreil-Bergès.

Is there hard evidence of all this? Paperwork connecting register plate to More for instance? Or just a guess?

This story plus 5207, owned and driven by singer Sam Cooke right before his murder, makes me beginning to think that Lussos are associated with murderers… But every car has its history !

4509 GT almost crashed last Saturday in St. Moritz.
I suggest that you post this pic in the special thread about The ICE in the vintage section.

At those walking speeds? Hope they could calm down afterwards in a real hot sauna (=at least 45 degrees Celsius!).

Bump. Still wondering if anyone has any material to confirm or deny the suggested identity of the Verdier-Lusso. Remember too well the claims of Alain Delon never owning a Cal Spider, and only borrowing one.
