Next batch of Hachette 1/24th rally cars. Very nice to see the RS200. I have a very good Modelers RS200 kit I got from Mike Quarterman but this one looks even better.

Burago Roma in 1/24th scale due next month. Not the same quality as Hachette but still pretty good quality as a base for a tear down and rebuilt for those into such thing's. Alpha Model also says they plan on a resin 1/24th model kit of the Roma soon, but that will cost $200.00 but will be much nicer.

I've been waiting whole year for this!
To kill that time I've bought 6 911's, and started collecting WRC cars.... :D:D:D

Not sure if anyone noticed but Hachette has also released a 1/5th scale F1 helmet collection to go along with the F1 car collections in 1/43rd and 1/24th scales.

Slightly modified the 2021 release schedule for the 1/24th F1 cars. Flipped the F2007 and M23. They have released number 18, the Renault RS 01 already. They also have the Alfa 158 1950 planned for a release date of December 31st 2021.

This collection is truly amazing, the best 1/24th F1 models I have seen other than the Hiro, Wave, Tameo and FPPM 1/24th kits.

They seem to be moving the releases around. They added the 2004 Ferrari F1 champion now. We do have 60 releases so it should be very interesting. I hope they do all the missing F1 championship cars. That would be an amazing 1/24th scale collection. Not even 1/18th and definitely not 1/20th, only 1/43rd scale has the full collection and now maybe 1/24th.

I'd love to see more cars from the 90s.
This colletion is more and more tempting :)
If I could have some of my favourite F1 cars, I think I would go for it: FW14B, B194, MP4/5B, MP4/6, F1-90, 643, Jordan 191, Lotus 102B (yeah, I know it's strange, but I always liked that car), but also more modern: Renault R25, RB7, F150 Italia, SF70H, Alfa C38, Alpine A521, ...oh wait, I need to stop, because this list is growing out of control.... :D

The long awaited addition to my slowly growing WRC collection: the 1986 Ford RS200 as driven by Stig Blomqvist at the Sweden rally (DNF). Ford had started developing a successor for the ageing Escort but finally stopped the project as they recognized they were in a dead-end street. So they started from scratch with a totally new concept - mid-engine, 4WD and some other sophisticated features but were too late to become a real contender, they finally arrived on the scene no earlier than in 1986 and even Stig Blomqvist, famous Saab driver and 1984 world champion with Audi quattro, had no luck with that car - though it looked promising, it was neither competitive enough nor reliable: Stig did not finish any event that year, the best - and only - podium was 3rd place in Sweden with Kalle Grundel at the wheel - as the FIA banned group B rally cars at the end of 1986, the RS 200 had a succesful career in Rally-Cross for several years.

On to the model: very good proportions, correct details and tampo printing, but ugly pins in the rear lights and a light gray dashboard where you can clearly see that there is nothing to see - therefore only 9/10 pts. - the narrow wheels are correct for the winter rally (February) on ice and snow. The base plate has the names printed in wrong order: Stig Blomqvist is the driver, Bruno Berglund the co-driver.

I wanted to wait with a reply until I hold the model in my hands.
Now I need to disagree, Tom.
Yes, the Hachette die-cast are excellent, but they are still die-casts.
They can't compete with a well-built plastic kit in terms of filigree, thickness of body panels and details. Also, some parts could be better assembled. And: if you build yourself, you can choose the right color ;)
Anyway, I don't want to complain and I'm very glad that Hachette is releasing these models.

The same applies to the 312T2. Amazing die-cast, but it doesn't come close to the 312T from Maruii in detail. Especially when you consider that the Maruii was actually a battery-powered toy.
I also have both Wave-kits (126CK and 312T2'77) - not built yet, but I can already tell that the Hachette model can't compete.
However, I'm looking forward to the Hachette 312T, as I expect it to be better at some of the system-related weaknesses of the Maruii.
