Looks like they have an issue here with those aluminium covers.

1000% better in person. It's hard to describe but the car looks "flat" in photos whereas in person you really can see how shapely the car is.

Looked like a mashup of 2 or more design themes IMHO

Front three-quarter view is simple and Spartan while rear is highly modern with many different details. Wife even said pass.

Paul and I saw it together. I was really curious if I would have F8 buyer's remorse after seeing it. I did not. :)

I would agree. At some point I'd like a mid-engine 2 seater, but it would have to be a 458, 488 or F8

There are elements of the 296 I find amazing. Some not as much. But to be fair that’s the same on the F8. No doubt the interior and performance on the 296 are a huge upgrade.

Funny to me about the 296 vs F8 aesthetically is that I love the F8 front end and don't like the rear while I love the 296 rear but find the front end bland. Certainly, however, the track oriented future versions of the 296 can make the front more aggressive and have a great platform to work with. The 458, in retrospect, had sort of a boring design as well, but it was a great jumping off point for future models.

I was there. They were bent to hell. Wondering how that could come to be. Must be ultra thin and maleable.

The more new models they attempted to design (after the 458), the uglier they became…
If I only look at the engine bay, the camshaft cover, a shame!

My question is why are we still doing comparison with prior models (458, 488, F8)? I thought the 296 is a complete new production model itself.

    I totally agree!

They need to get the front and rear right.

The 458 was OK… however the Speciale was perfect.

The 488 was not bad, however the Pista was perfect.

The F12 was delicious and the TDF was Heaven

The 812 is a bit Meh and the 812C resolves everything.

Probably due to the fact that it is a car that Ferrari produces as was the others….?

Because for some Ferraris had gotten worse with each model since they made a second car. The 458 was also divisive back then.

Thanks all, I really want to see the car in person. Initially, I agree with all the comments about the aesthetics, however it has become a bit more appealing to me over time. Anyone else?
