I need to correct what I said above. I didn't think that after I typed the body number as 11 as being correct so I went to the car to check and it is 12 as postulated by jtremlett. I am a detail guy and the last thing I like doing is putting out bad info.
An interesting tidbit on my car is the 1,500 (1,627 actual) mile free oil change was done four months before sale at FAF and this will get everyone, the second at 5,230 at the Citgo Quick Lube in Hilton Head, SC (that is where the original owner had one of three homes). Wonder if they had an oil filter in stock or did they run down to NAPA. :)

there are a couple TB's in the mix 82353 and 82371. No idea if they were sequentially numbered on the build markers.

Very interesting - I own 82325 (a TS) and the reason I started down this path. I can confirm that it is stamped "8" on the shock tower and frame and shows as a July 1989.

@steved033 - curious what pictures you have in case they are older than the ones I have (I'll PM you my email address). Were they online?

Fun fact - I bought it from across the other side of the country and needed to find a mechanic to do a PPI on it. I got a few recommendations and selected a guy near where the seller was. When the car was dropped off at his shop he called me and told me he actually knew the car very well as he had serviced it for a number of years. Was very reassuring to hear that.

Here's where it gets interesting - he also told me he used to work at Autohaus in MA many year ago, and he actually distinctly remembered this car as it was the first 348 TS they had delivered and sold. He actually drove it off the truck and did the PDI on it. Pretty amazing connection! He also helped me with many little questions I had on the car. Thought I'd share.

On the same basis, here are the first dozen US 348 tbs:

    82347
    82353
    82360
    82365
    82371
    82375
    82386
    82395
    82407
    82418
    82426
    82449

It is interesting that the stamped numbers appear to match the chassis number sequence so far, although I'm not sure that would be true all the way through.

Cool to see people reporting in. What number does your one have on the shock tower? See the photo here as to what to look for:

This question could appear stupid but the date on the US VIN plate is 100% verified the built date of the car ?
