Hi Guys, As I finally own my first Ferrari after many years of owning, restoring and driving Porsche (924, 911, 996) I want to introduce the new family member. It's a French (Charles Pozzi) delivered 3.0 QV. Argento/Silver (FER 101/C Glasurit) over Rosso/Red (VM 3171 Conolly) You can hardly call it a proper project as the condition is very nice but there are always small things (and a little less small thing) to improve. I'll keep track of all changes made to the car here and try to include as many pictures as possible. So to start off with a to do list: When I bought it, I already decided to focus on the interior first: - Clean and freshen up the red leather, I do like some patina on older cars but this Mondial had a full respray and the interion doesn't match the outside looks. - Fix noisy window regulator driver side, it's not only slow but also very noisy when going up or down. Sometimes the noise is gone after stopping and continueing. - Change steeringwheel to a rare Momo signature series wheel with quick release. - Change modern radio to a more period correct version. As for the outside; - Add Ferrari emblems to front fenders (sorry guys, I know not everybody likes these). - Re-align front bumper. (Unplanned) Things I found after the first days of driving: - Petrol Flap won't open electrical. - Alternator seems not to be charging. - Left mirror won't move up, all other directions work. - Small oil "leak" around sump area. Long term plans: - Upgrade suspension and lower the car about 2". - Upgrade to 16" wheels. - Modify exhaust to a tubi style or equivalent.
Nice work to be done! It literally is Deja vu your list , but I do want to give you a small tip to look at for the sump area. There is a tube going from your oil vapour separator to the sump and usually at the sump side the tube is not soft anymore and leaking. When you have time or pass Paris, do have a look at Charles Pozzi's place. It's unbelievable that such a space, for cars, is available in almost dead center Paris, especially with the emission regulation now in this city. They always have a nice collection! I like both styles, but do whatever you like I would say! Which emblems do you had in mind? The rubber/plastic of the diecast? both are original btw.
Thanks for the oil-line tip. Here's a sneak peek: - Metal diecast emblems (which I will just stick on so I can remove them if needed) - Rare Momo Clay Regazzoni Steering wheel, period correct and a little smaller Image Unavailable, Please Login
Do not EVER tell a true Parisian that Pozzi is "almost dead center of Paris"; my goodness! Levallois is outside the "Périphérique" (= Zip Code not in "75xxx") so in the suburbs! Admitedly, a posh suburb, but a SUBURB nevertheless. As a true Parisian, I almost fainted reading this. Rgds
So, the story begins! Had some free time after work so started on the unplanned issues. Petrol flap turned out to be a loose wire, easy fix. Alternator... wasn't really planning on doing this today after reading some horror stories of people removing Petrol tanks to get bolts out etc... Turned out to be a 20 minute job to get the thing out. Removed the right rear wheel and liner. Everything looks very good here, previous owner clearly took good care of the car. Took out the alternator and had it tested at local shop. Dead as a Dodo. I used to work in this shop so they will rebuilt it and have it ready by the end of tomorrow. Image Unavailable, Please Login As this went so easy I had some time left to stick the emblems on and swap the steeringwheel. Let me know what you think, I love the vintage look and dimensions. What's the deal with this small bracket and bashed-up heatshield? Should they connect somewhere/something? Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is a polyester protection cover that goes over the belts...nr 49 on this diagram. Do you have that ? That little bracket is connected to a small plate riveted on the heatshield. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tnx, so I guess that whole unit is missing as there was no cover at all. I'll put it on the do list..
I like it! However , I'm curious how light it will turn without power steering. Driving in Amsterdam can be sometimes a pain with the original steering wheel. Btw there is power steering for the Mondial available, but you will have a totally different car experience. (I tested it some years ago)
Hi Wes, just a quick hello, happy to see you, your project (and the momo ) here. Not much free time at hand over here but going to try and follow as much as i can! Cheers, Robin from Belgium ;-)
Out with the old, in with the new. And added another small detail to the car made by K&Y Fob, he makes custom fobs for all gearheads. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Garage clean-up evening but couldn't resist taking a shot for you guys. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Had to take the car for a quick spin during lunch and found a leak after some minutes back in the garage. Image Unavailable, Please Login It's just a coolant hose (clamp of short hose leaking) so nu biggie, just add it to the list. Right under: Replace mirror glass as it has two annoying marks.. ... short hose as in in this one? Image Unavailable, Please Login that's fuel. Does your car have the floor pan under the tanks?
No, it's leaking around here, but I do want to replace that short fuel line also when i'm at it. All other fuel lines look fairly new. There is no cover, should there be one? Image Unavailable, Please Login
