I’m sure that someone has experienced this.
Not your average sticky button issue on cosmetics but intermittent activity of the
Navigation Menu Control Switches on the right hand side of the steering wheel

mine seem to stick a bit and function intermittently.

is there a cleaning regimen for these to return them to consistent working status?
Can you use contact cleaner without destroying the finish?

My 2014 458 Spider is not sticky . . . yet. My 2011 Maserati Gran Turismo Convertible went sticky everywhere until I started cleaning it with Oxi Clean:

    Thanks Rob.
The top buttons are OK and have been “de-stickied” from the surface.
I was asking if anyone has cleaned the contacts for the switches. They seem to work intermittently and I am wondering if the cleaning solution used changes the interaction with the actual electrical switching.
I can feel the activation of the button but the response is intermittent.

The surface of the control panel is fine - it’s not sticky there, what I am asking about is when the button is depressed - there seems to be a lag or no response in the functionality. So am thinking that the contact with the switch is either misaligned or contaminated with whatever the last shop used?

min your cleaning do you take the switches apart and restore them?

Yes, we usually have to take those apart when we refinish them. So maybe some crap got down into the panel and causing it to not function properly. Take it apart and clean it all really good.

Just curious, my local dealer said it is a ton of work getting that nav control switch out. I enjoy doing things myself. Is removing that switch something that I could handle? I changed out the mirror switch today and it was very simple. Sorry, I don't mean to hijack this thread. ;)
