The CarFAX is also quite telling... Car was totaled with about 1000 miles on it in 1998... Been titled in at least 6 states for only four owners? Absolutely no history between 2004 and 2021? Riken tires? Stickies done POORLY? No underhood decals? Ummmm... no thanks - this checks all the 'nope' boxes. Hard pass.

Must have been out of short nap rollers that paint day.

 

Can’t see it going by at 100mph or even 30mph….. probably a $65k car, but miles are lifting price up. Yes, it has an edge, but a lot can be corrected for cheaper than the same car, clean title at $165k

dang you have a good eye on paint. and are you using some sort of web trawler program to find these things globally? or do you just have a standard set # of sites you check? a 1998 can't get imported into the US right now under the 25 yr rule. but good looking car...

 

The front end fender gap is for crossing the Rubicon apparently.

 

I basically have a browser window with a bunch of tabs for all the sites around the world I find to have regular updated listings. Refresh them all once in a while. Haha

The orange peel around the pininfarina badge is excessive and inconsistent for factory paint IMO.

Also on the rear bumper the lower vents are painted body colour. They should be matte black unless it's been repainted...the easiest tell tale sign is the minor accents that left the factory in satin black.

Might be an issue to register a non-obd2 1996 vehicle if you have emissions testing?

 

As of today, the car is still for sale...if it was LHD it would have been mine already

 

Even though it's RHD? Well, it is in the UK. It would be worth less there if it was LHD.
