250 P5 is a proof, that Pininfarina's infallibility is very much overrated

1400 kg dry weight is still in understandable range. But if it goes above that, then maybe it has a metal body with carbon extras only.

The Laferrari was what 1585 Kerb with 150 - 200Kgs in it's Electrics. So 1400kg Kerb or yeah something is going on.

Of course this is my opinion. We all speak our opinions here. I belive that is the main purpose of this forum :)

It is no secret, that Ferrari is trying to make a new interpretation of Drogo's designs for 330 P4/ Dino 206 P. 250 P5 design also fits here.
But (and this is my opinion again) this is very tricky task. 330 P4 lines are very characteristic to its era.
And I am affraid of these attepts to make modern car out of it.
I fear that this would look like recreation of thing, that already has been done - P4/5.

But then again: Monza SP is a brilliant reinterpretation of 50s Mondials and Monzas. It is 100% modern car, and yet it is clear hommage to this cars. So maybe I should trust Ferrari in this, and new Icona well be fine? ;)

The P4/5 was great when Jim first showed it now it feels like they held back to much of the shape. That shape is all in or all out other wise it won't age well. well to me anyway. Monza SP is fantastic. I do really like the 330 P4 LM (I think they only made 3). Would look great next to the Monza sp

I guess that means something like a 70/30 aluminium to Carbon fibre ratio

Still thats a 100kgs less and with the latest 812 V12 should make for some GREAT track figures though.

This was my quick interpretation of the new "icona" model based on the prototype seen by Varryx.
I always thought there would be a rear horizontal lightband.

Add some rear bands like in the 250 P5 and you would be pretty close, also it should be a barchetta.

I will come back to the point about the forums. I understand the rationale but that rationale was created before they did the Icona program. Originally one of the administrators replied to a similar request about the Monza that when there would be a series of cars they'd create a new forum. Well, we've known about Icona 2 for a while; and now we are literally on the eve of learning more. I think its kind of silly to look up one Icona on one forum and look up another Icona in another. The mission of the Monza is really not the same as the 812. And while we don't know the mission of the soon to be unveiled Icona 2, I doubt its the same as the LaFerrari or its predecessors. I humbly submit, again, a request for a separate forum.

Not much of a lightweight, it turns out. What was supposedly LaF Aperta kerb weight, again?

Thanks. So probably body color A- or B- pillar as predicted, but more slanted, unlike P4 or my sketch.

Side intakes probably extended back into the rear quarters and openings/strakes behind rear wheels (like 812C) wrapping around to the rear?

Disappointed to read about so much CF on the body sides—hope not as bad as on the BR20. The camo’d car looks to be white; a lot of CF on white would look particularly bad in my opinion. Was the car shown in white?

I think white is a possibility because the P5 was shown in white pearl, I believe:

Can we also expect a full glass rear canopy?

Depends on what figure was shared. If it was dry weight (which is typical), then it is only 17 kg lighter than 812 Competizione or 55 kg lighter than Superfast. But perhaps it is fair to compare to GTS, which is already 130 kg heavier.

Sorry, but from this perspective the car looks like a lawn mower... and the ground clearance should be similarly low...:D
