Hi Kresten! This is fantastic reading. I am a big fan of the Maranellos like you. I wonder, what have you done to the car during these miles? (The big things, not small service thing) I have a 1999 550 that I bought in Italy March 2013, then with 72.000 kms. Now it has 157.500 kms. The engine runs like «new» still and I have not done anything to the engine except changing the AC kompressor, coil pack and one cam oil seal. The clutch is still very good and I use the car now more or less daily here in south of France (no salt or stone chips here!). Accident free and works like a champ. I wonder when I need to rebuild the engine...? I have the same perception like you. The car is perfect for my use as I drive long trips with it from time to time. And it is supringly fast at top speed compared to a modern Ferrari V12 too... Show us some photos !

Just for giggles, I looked at all the 550's and 575's that had been on my tracking spreadsheet when I was hunting and not a single car was over 60k miles.

If you guys have or know of cars higher than Doug's old TdF 550 at 67k lets put a list or thread of "hero's" together.....

@christianscott Excited for you and welcome! The other winners this past year or so on solid 575 scores were @SteveVT (also from the auction commentary) and then also @dhalperin13

I will be curious if we learn on this thread of other high mile Maranello's......I only know of one US Maranello higher than your 575 that's Montgomery's 140k mile 550.

Please keep us in the loop as you get the car and learn more about any needs. I love high mileage stories.... @niftyfivefifty had been one of our recent hero's piling on the miles on his 550 and we had been learning a lot from him and his experiences.

Thanks again for checking in --Eric

Christian - great purchase! Love the color combination and it looks like this one had the right amount of care and maintenance over the years.

I see you are in NH - great to have another 575 in northern New England!

    Steve

    Steve and Christian,
I am on the edge of taking delivery of my "new" 02 575. RC/Tan Daytonas. I used to have a TdF Blue/Tan Daytonas 456M 6MT if you saw that one around NH. I live in Nashua and belong to FCA-NE. Hope to run into you both.

That's fantastic - congrats! My folks live right nearby in Amherst, so I am down that way a fair bit. As @Ferrari55whoa suggests, we should try to get together in the spring for a drive.

YES! Fantastic and had forgotten. For this thread and my education can you remind us if there is one main thread journaling your path with the car (kinda like I was thinking of Clyde’s) @Clyde Romero https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/575-on-the-move.610392/

I know @niftyfivefifty has posted a lot as well but I’m not sure if he has one thread unifying all his experiences?

I love the big Mike users and the adjacent stories.

Here are a few nice threads over time on Steve’s high mile 575.

@vandevanterSH Steve are you your 575’s original owner? https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/136849566

Maybe your R/C is an ‘02 and you have had it since ‘04 and maybe have put nearly all the miles on the car yourself?

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/136852761/

    July 2007 @ 67k
    //www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/136904901/

    @ about 63k miles in 2007. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/575-road-trip.148211/

Would be fun to expand this high mile thread to also add fantastically long ownership periods….would be fun to see how many have owned their Maranello’s for more than say 15 years?

I recall reading a thread that Terry @tazandjan traded a corvette in on his ‘04 575 in summer of 2007.

I hadn’t tracked very seriously long ownership periods when I was hunting….would also like to know or hear some of those stories as well. Maybe from the seriously long term owners any “stand out favorite drives or trips”?

Not my Maranello (I also hope to have a 20+ year relationship with it)…. but my longest held car is my 2000 Miata that has lived multiple lifetimes as a daily commuter, a beach weekend car and racecar…bought new by my wife and I in January 2001 and has driven everywhere including to Cabo and back and raced at maybe 2 dozen race tracks.

My Instagram is really where I centrally documented my experience, and Fchat has been a savior for when things would go sideways. Looking back I definitely should have created a thread for it on here! Fchat has been an amazing resource, and there was almost always someone who had already “been there, done that” which made for much faster wins, and it really enhanced the ownership experience beyond my wildest expectations. The unsung and best benefit of owning a Ferrari, in my humble opinion, has been the community. The fuse board was the only thing we pioneered, and my education during that situation was still very enjoyable, though a bit of a nail-biter at times. The entire experience may even inspire me to have a service that “bulletproofs” vintage Ferraris for daily driving use. Being able to put the miles on without worrying about little stuff is such a great feeling and it has taken the enjoyment of the car to the next level.

As some of you have probably read on my IG, I unfortunately lost my primary business to Covid over the summer, and I have been preparing the car for sale so my family and I can regroup into the next exciting chapter of our lives. I am working with an amazing broker who specializes in unique exotics, and we are planning a “fun” way to find its next lucky owner. If I could keep it forever I would, and I hope to be lucky enough to own it again at some point. As details regarding the sale listing solidify I will be sure to share the “when and where” with everyone here.

67,000 miles on an '02 575..not high mileage in the "real world"..but 65,000 miles in 2 1/2 years in a f-car is a little unusual.
    ***
Good times!!!! Semi-retired/between marriages and could take the 575 on multi-week road trips. Total of 46 States with multiple trips to South-West, West Coast/up and down PCH. Visiting family on East Coast would drive "straight-thru", 1150 miles....longest "straight-thru" drive, 1300 miles..IIRC, longest road trip ~7000 miles. So far, in 107,000 miles, have needed two "flat-bed" rides. Locked up A/C compressor in Winslow, AZ at about 50k and shredded rt front tire, Houston, Tx.
