2001 was outrageous, but well deserved in my view given the amount of sweat work that MSC and the team put in.

1999 and 2000 were straight fights.

From 2002 onwards Michelin and McLaren were bouncing back and Michelin were pushing the envelope which culminated in an interesting USA GP.

Always reminds me of one famous quote by Winston S. Churchill (not directed towards Ktu...) "Never engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man"...
(I believe that he did not invent it, he quoted)

In short, Schumacher had the best car those years.

Hakkinen was WDC in 1999 not Schumacher,
In 2000 the Mclaren Mercedes was a slightly better car.
In 2001 the Ferrari was a better car.
In 2002 and 2004 the Ferrari was a very dominant car.
In 2003 the Ferrari was pretty even with the Mclaren Mercedes and the williams BMW.

In short you should deepen your knowledge of F1 during this period.

Ferrari won the constructers from 1999-2004. Lets not complicate it.

Matthieu, KTU’s got a point, what matters is who won, not by how much or who deserved…ask our Belgian friends at the World Cup 2018, they were better, but lost and cant get over it;)

Schumacher did NOT have the best car until 2001. McLaren had the superior car in the preceding years. Schumacher contributed critically to the infrastructure of the team as a whole. This is not something Elton Hamdashian or really any of the other drivers have done to the degree Schumacher did. That’s why Mercedes F1 used Schumacher to build the team that Elton Hamdashian has enjoyed his success with.

Well not defend KTU but 5 titles, 5wdc championship, factually best driver in the best car won.
In 08 Lewis won in a car that wasn’t WDC same d’or Schumacher in 94… this is factual

Well you can see things the way you want & whilst I agree Michael is superior to Lewis in every way.
Ferrari won 5 championships, Schumacher 5 titles.
Was he more prevalent in their succèss than Lewis to mercedes? Yes
Was his car as dominant as Lewis’?no
But In the end..5 for 5

I'm reading stats from the FIA. Are you saying FIA is bias on Ferrari?

Ferrari won races before Schumacher came. Hamilton won before he joined Mercedes. He didn't need them to win. In fact Mercedes reached out to him.

    LOL!!
Cheatmacher had the best car from 1999-2004. Cheatmacher also had an illegal car. Cheatmacher also is the only driver in history to be disqualified for a season for losing it mentally and ramming into another driver. Cheatmacher will never be considered in the same sentence as Hamilton in sportsmanship. Cheatmacher never beat a WDC teammate as Hamilton and Senna did. Cheatmacher's own ex teammates say Hamilton is better. LOL!!!

I guess one take away from this exhausting (and increasingly tiresome) discussion is that there is significant and overwhelming evidence that Sir Lewis will never obtain a general consensus of greatness…except among his most ardent fans. There are certain sports figures who so dominate their sports that they are universally recognized…Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Wayne Gretzky, Babe Ruth. I’m sure some of my European friends could rattle off similar stars. Lewis is not one of them. I’m sure said fans will now chime in and say, “but wait, he IS the greatest because we say so.” No, your devotion doesn’t change that fact that for every one of you out there, there are ten of us (folks who look at it a smidge more objectively) who respectfully disagree.

I don’t think anyone could read this thread (or Instagram or any other F1 comment section) and conclude that Hamilton is widely accepted or acknowledged as the greatest. Accomplished driver? Absolutely. Extraordinary? No. That is, until his fans (many of whom seem to be F1 rookies BTW) chime in.

If there’s any consensus to be had, it’s simply that the the Mercedes in the Hybrid era was a magnificent feat of engineering. Look at what George Russell did with it in only one drive.

This is indeed an interesting debate. Who is better - Schumacher or Hamilton. Why don’t you set up a poll and let’s find out what the community thinks?

No. I only follow polls of F1 drivers. Not internet drivers. 5 of Cheatmacher's teammates say Hamilton is in someways better.

On a Ferrari forum—- this would be biased and stupid.
