I know this thread is mostly about liquor, but if you like any cocktail with sweet vermouth, try some Cynar. It's a bittersweet aperitif similar to vermouth but with a fresher profile. I love a nice rye Manhattan with Cynar. It has a superior profile than any sweet vermouth in my opinion, even the really pricey ones. Try it out if you haven't, it's worth a few bucks.

Familiar with it from one of my preferred spring/summer cocktails, the manowar. Definitely a worthy addition.

Well the bottle is completely out of focus. I blame my attempt to whore my shoes out along with my horse soldier. :p

Still no cherries for my ol fashy, but allegedly amazon's remedying that this afternoon.

Got a fresh barrel proof waiting in the bullpen. Horse soldier's another one I hope to always have stocked. It may not have a standout flavor profile a la BTAC or HH 27, but just the story behind it (and my own experiences with others in that realm) makes for some great fireside conversations. :)

Was at a friend’s 50th anniversary and (although not bourbon) had some Hennessy XO Grande Champagne 50th Anniversary….(yeah I know). Damn good rocket fuel! Better than the Woodford I drank.

I have a few pappy and to me it’s one of the most over rated alcohols, period. Not because it isn’t very good. Just because the hype is so wild it can’t live up. It’s how I feel about most cult wines. It’s a terrific collectors item, though.

Does anyone know how much is the current 23 yo going for and how much more of a premium for the older batches? Was offered $3650 a few months ago.

What do you think of Old Rip 10 yr? Every time I try it (I should stop) I feel it is too much fire and not enough body. It's just that noone has or will crack open a Pappy.
