The very best part of this car is, of course, that magnificent engine. Real shame it cannot be seen with the hood up or down. Should be under glass and a focal point given it may be the last one of its kind. Somebody doesn't like engines.

As I looked at the design, it seems to me that they "recycled" the LaFerrari chassis and put a different body on it. The windshield angle looks similar along with the position of the V12 and the door structure. If true I wouldn't be surprised as designing a new chassis for a car such as this would be a huge undertaking. So for those fortunate enough to get one, you can think of it as a LaFerrari without the battery issues....

so these icona cars are not based on a single car but on a particular theme. the first two was 50s, this one on the 6os p-series. next maybe something from the 70s?

It looks like a Mclaren from the front in this photo.

From the rear it’s like a testarossa.

It’s as if multiple design teams worked on this because the car is not cohesive in design.

The so-called Testarossa theme (rear) came up in 1983 but for those slightly more mature they saw all that fifteen years earlier than 1983, in 1968 already with the 250 P5.
Just look at the 250 P5 photos in this thread.
Here's a pic of a TR prototype I took in Maranello in 1984.

There is luggage space, you can open and close the front trunk on the configurator, but it doesn’t seem to fit the targa top as it seems to be a one piece top and too wide for the luggage compartment.

There will be 2 tops like the F50. One of which you can carry in the car

Was that Testarossa proto running on the roads with its minimal camouflage already before its public presentation?

Waiting for the first 'pretty girls with Ferraris' photo with her sitting centered in the rear hip/roof groove with heels dug into the raw CF footboard. Kinda looks like a comfy captains chair.

I took it in late July 1984.
I photographed several (more or less) camouflaged TR prototypes back then.

"The limited-run Icona series is designed to appeal directly to Ferrari’s regular customers and adopts a novel approach, as the models are led by style and design rather than ultimate performance. “This is not a supercar,” said chief technical officer Michael Leiters of the Daytona, which is based on an evolved version of the LaFerrari Aperta’s chassis. “A supercar is the pinnacle of technology. When we produce a new supercar, we always introduce new technology. Here, we are not looking at the pinnacle of performance. The driver is more central, which is why it is so welcome for the collectors. This is not a special version of LaFerrari.”"

I agree, but would like to add Amaranto Roma Ferrari - dark red, like the Monza SP2 from Bern, I think that fits the busy lines and the contrast with the carbon. And there is a link to racing and the past.

Yeah, it’s got some complex surfacing going on. Probably works better in real scale. Often Ferrari’s don’t photograph well.

But kudos to Ferrari Design for making something unique and striking. Want to be able to pull a crowd from an Enzo? This will do it.

And yeah, at least no one can rightly say it looks like a Corvette.
