Both ovens were complete. I had the Forno Bravo Primavera 70 first- but I don't recommend it as it is very finicky to get a fire going, requiring smaller pieces of wood rather than the typical 18" found. Very sensitive to wind, often needing a fan blowing into the opening until you got a decent fire mass up to speed (I've melted a few). Cooking two pies at once was difficult. Also the floor lost temp rather quickly after cooking a few.

The Vesuvio 90 is a dream- fires start right up without difficulty, multiple pizzas at a time, really maintains heat. A pleasure to use. And you can get custom tiles- ours matches quite nicely the travertine deck in the back.

The Primavera was frustrating at times.

Just caught up a week’s worth, great stuff ^^ gents!

We had another fantastic meal at the neighbors…they had been wanting to make wild boar rage pappardelle for us. They got the boar from D’artagnan and made the pasta from scratch. The ragu cooked for several hours and had a touch of cocoa and the usual elements. The pasta cooked in about 2 minutes.

We complimented their main course with crostini with Brie and black truffle and mushroom purée, caprese salad and their fresh baked pumpkin bread and my wife’s baguettes. My wife also made tiramisu for dessert and I brought the wines from Piedmonte.

What a meal and fun evening…

I *wish* we could get fish and chips like I imagine the quality you get there…but we are 1000 miles from the ocean. But…love me some fish and chips, so we had it twice recently at two places here in our little mountain valley. Not bad, the lower pic was far better (I’m thinking the top pic was pre-made, frozen commercial sisco or some such)

We are lucky with seafood here. Halibut, you can get fresh at the docks. A few commercial fishermen are advertising fresh from the boat Halibut on Facebook Marketplace..............................

Pizza Hut has their buy one get one free deal on. Plus you can combine their buy one for regular price and get a medium for $5 deal. So doing Pizza Hut tonight.

We did TG early. Kroger had a special, spend $100 and get a free turkey. So, I tried this already smoked turkey. Not bad for outta the box smoked turkey. A little dry in the white meat, but that was my fault in re-heating. Also, made green bean casserole, the wife's favorite. And, fresh cranberry sauce.

They'll be back in Canada any minute. They stocked up at Safeway and Costco. $800 at Safeway and $900 at Costco. They got turkeys, prime ribs and steaks. We stocked up on mostly canned goods. But bought several turkeys and prime rib, T-bones and NY strip steaks. The bill was between four people. I got two turkeys, two prime ribs and two hams (even though I'm not fond of ham) and two packages T-bones and NY strip steaks. Got enough to last several weeks of no grocery shopping.................................. Supposed to be more heavy rain and flooding.

Four slices of Pizza Hut down the hatch. Meat Lovers and Super Supreme.

Another day, another use for our peppers. Blended up our Calabrian peppers with diced tomatoes, herbs and spices.
Pictured below, they have a little more simmering and reducing to go.
Since I used diced tomatoes, plus the last of the garden tomatoes - been a mild fall, so they're still producing, albeit slowly - it's a bit chunkier than canned sauce.
    Taste is good though...T

I'm going to do a NY strip. Its a package of three steaks and it also has garlic butter included. I'll fry two in the cast iron and garlic butter. Freeze the other for another time. Baked potato for a side.

Man, that brings back memories of TG at grandma's house as a kid - both good (tons of great food) and bad (too crowded!). Glad you had a good time...T

Went to my most waste of money dinner ever in my whole life last night.

Food was just good not great. Service meh. Each spot was $400. I sat down and had a busted old dirty bent fork. (Sigh) for that price get it right people! I have no problem dropping money on top shelf but this was just hokey :( they won’t last.

They made me some excellent mocktails instead of wine (I don’t drink) - still not worth it.
