I'm not sure who has the 'best' but Benny Caiola's used to be my favorite. I guess it really has to do with the kind of cars you're into. I've seen the Lingenfelter Collection in person like several people on here and I agree that it is stunning. I really hope he adds a Mclaren F1 someday.
Also enjoyed James Reid's collection in "The Green Hornet." I wish the garage scene was on YouTube...
For your ROTFLOL consideration I offer "The Top 10 Most enviable Collections" courtesy of AskMen'; I'm sure the ultimate connoisseurs of car collecting.......... http://www.askmen.com/top_10/cars/top-10-enviable-car-collections_1.html
I don't know what you put in under the term "best". Most collections reflect character, and I love collections with a great variety of old/new, fast/slow... A great collection makes me think "that guy knows exactly what he's doing", and not just a latest and greatest supercar hoarder like many of the Middle-East collections. Surprised no one mentioned user RufMD yet, with that orange XJ220 he took it to a new level. leeds1 also has a collection I admire, tons of fun. Can't ignore Napolis' collection either. h2oskier has a vintage VW micro bus and a Carrera GT, that's a mighty cool combo. Peter Saywell is mentioned earlier, his passion runs deep.
Better than Jon Shirley's? Sample... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Seinfeld has a great collection of Porsche but not much else. Not a very broad collection. But if Porsches are your thing. It's hard to see past it for sure
Scratch Lawrence Stroll from the list. Fred Simeone, Miles Collier and Rob Walton in no particular order.
Khalid Mohammed Abdulrahim in Bahrain is definitely up there for the newer stuff. Image Unavailable, Please Login
fanchracing 250 GTO McLaren F1 GTR x2 McLaren F1 road car McLaren F1 car MP4-23 2008 Monaco GP winner Lewis Hamilton 917k street car etc
Does this count, as I think it's private. Barber motor sports park, not to mention the motor bikes. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would second John Shirley. Plus, he is really into and knowledgeable about his cars, and loves to drive them as intended! John is probably the nicest ultra wealthy person I have ever met. He was glad to chat it up with me about cars in general and his love of racing. Jay Leno would be my second pick.
It's an amazing collection. I haven't been since they added on the new wing that basically doubled it I think. The Britten V1000 is probably my favorite bike there. They had 9 of the 10 there at a bike festival I went to...crazy seeing them on track and one guy doing wheelies with it.
