Selling a personal car of mine. I’ve had it for 5 years. 2800 miles on the car since strip/paint and total mechanical rebuild. Everything that can be rebuilt or refurbished has been done/replaced sans the gearbox, which shifts great.

1974 Carrera with correct butt-welded 73 RS flares (not SC flares). Stripped to bare and painted continental orange
    Weighs 2300-2400lbs or thereabouts
Front scuttle around the lower windshield was replaced as it is so coming these go rotten over the years around the windscreen rubber mounting. We just opted to replace the entire lower scuttle and it came out perfect.
    Front suspension pan replaced
    15” Fuchs with fresh tires
44 row setrab oil cooler with Spal fan and mocal tstat
Custom made (UK) Cobra seats with plaid inserts, Connolly bolsters.
    RS carpet
    10k tachometer

    Engine details:
    All measure 3-4% leak
2.8L engine built on magnesium 7r case - large inserts used for all head studs
    Pressure fed tensioners
    Twin plug
    Turbo lower valve covers
    JB racing distributor
JE skirt coated pistons 10.5:1 cpr
    92mm nikasil coated alum liners
    DC65 camshafts
PMO 46 carbs -jetted correctly with a wideband. 38mm chokes
Heads are ported to 39mm intake 38mm exhaust
    Carrillo connecting rods
    964 oil pump
    Euro headers
    M&k 2 in 1 out muffler
    Aluminum pressure plate
Shift point is 8000RPM with peak power around 7500rpm or so. Ignition system has limited set to 8000.

very street able engine. I have cold start, idle, and driving videos. This car is a screamer. I did not go with a later 3.4L or 3.6L etc as I love the sound of the early high revving engines. Nothing like it.

Quintessential 911 hot rod in the best color with ultra rare factory RS flares

    asking $96,999

Someone asked about suspension so I’ll make it public. Fully rebuilt of course, torsion bars are 29mm rear 22mm front. Stock sway bars. Quite a bit stiffer bars than stock, no body roll nor dive under braking. Bilstein (green) shocks.

Took a lot of trial and error with the torsion bars to get it just right! Must have two solid weekends doing just that as it changes after it’s driven

    Great car!!!
I have the sister car #74 white targa
One of only two models to come from the factory with the infamous DUCKTAIL - 73 RS and 74 Carrera.
    Always copied. - never duplicated...
The result of overstocked parts from the RS tooling - RS ducktail, rear fender flairs - only on the first few in production, race tunnel, and magnesium alloy wheels staggered.
A very light car with great handling and free revving engine - the infamous magnesium cased 2.7

    Wait a minute
    Is this a 1974 911 Carrera? or a modified 1974 911?
I may have been mistaken in what I was looking at
    Sorry

This is a very cool car that deserves a better photo set. Try taking early morning or late afternoon photos, just before sunset works the best. I think it will be much more dramatic and appealing if you have a good camera and backdrop.. Just an FYI.

I think that was the 'table-top tail' option.

Nice vehicle. But the wing appears undersized for the application.

    Still a very nice car!

It's always been the "Picnic Table" to me, which would be, of course, the handy (rapid-)travel size.

If this was green or white, Jen would be hounding me.

Still available. Lots of interest so far. Twin plug engine has about 3000 miles on it now. The 74-75s were the same body as the 73RS sans the bumpers which add about 40lbs. Post this era they used a different gauge metal then started galvanizing sometime after that. They went from 2300lb cars to 2400, then 2500, then kept gaining more through the 80s.

Does not come with picnic table

Going to put it on BaT shortly.

As far as I can tell its a modified 74 911 and not a Carrera but maybe OP can clarify...

Some asking for videos. BaT will be a while as they have quite the list, so the car is still up until I have a date that it will go live on BaT.

Car is undoubtedly not an original Carrera as I had to put flares on (butt welded). I managed to find NOS 73RS flares ($$$$$) which were also used on very early 74 Carreras. Some might know that the shape of the 73RS flare is different from the later that was used through 89 in that the indexing around the wheel is not as symmetric and the lip around the wheel is not just one width, going from thin to thick at the top of the arch, then thin around the back. Sort of a Porsche nerd thing to notice, but that's what I wanted. I still have pics of the NOS decals on the flares supporting.

gearing is sort of tall but the engine pulls it well. Some people like to short gear these high revving engines almost to rally spec, but that's just a lot of shifting when just driving around town.
    at max shift points:
1st gear is good for just over 41mph
    2nd: 72mph
    3rd: 104mph

How much hp does the engine make? What’s the overall mileage on the chasis?

    Cool car very tempting

Sorry I missed this. Engine makes about 260-270bhp with the power band being from 4000-8000. Overall mileage is unknown. I snapped up the car 4-5 years ago with not much info, but I was specifically looking for an non-sunroof early light body 911 I could make how I want. I quite literally took the car down to nothing, crushed glass blasting the entire car, then built up just how I imagined my perfect no frills 911 would be. So many 911s in line to go in BaT it may be a while before it hits there but it's still available otherwise.
