    Funny how almost all car makers have a catfish mouth style front grill these days. Corporate design meetings where the execs demand 'MOAR FRONT VENTS!'

    Outgoing SL was perhaps one of the biggest design atrocities of the last decade.

    She ain’t pretty but she does get the job done. I will be looking forward to the newly designed car. I liked the design of the GT but I found the seats horribly uncomfortable and very narrow. The SL 63 has always been a good fit for me as daily driver .

    Sorry man. Didn't mean to rag on your car - I'm sure it's a beast and will admit it looks much much better than most in that color and with the AMG fixings. BTW - I vacation every year for a month on LBK. Considering moving to the Sarasota area in the future...at least part time. Jealous! Enjoy your ride my man!

    I had an R230 for 15ish years. While the new one is more stylistically homogeneous, it looks a little too ‘fish-face’ for my taste. The interior is nice though. I’ll pass though.

    Its good looking in a Porsche sort of way w new fabric roof. Just don't see how this fits lineup w amg gt? Esp compared to an amg version of sl.

    I prefer a hard top convertible. I like the current generation.

    Why did they go back to fabric ?

    Hardtop convertible is being phased out all over. Fabric is lighter smaller package and now w new materials able give equal isolation as hardtop. And heavy hardtop changes driving dynamics when down

    It does have a whiff of 992 cabriolet at the rear, but more distinctive up front.

    Handsome car. I like the soft top.

    Al , I also liked the hardtop especially after driving different SL 55-63 over the last 30 years as my DD. I’m willing to take a shot with the new top. If I don’t like it I’m sure I could sell it at a reasonable loss or break even. We shall see…..

    Yeah the R230 did not have have them due packing constraints with the hardtop
