Looks like the chassis tub is completely resin; I would have preferred more metal parts than fewer

If you pre order direct from Hiro the 1/12th scale 512S kit costs $675.74 including shipping. That is the best price I have seen as they offer a discount on preorder FYI.

Will they do both nose versions? Some of the Coda Lungas used the older rounder noses (# 5, 11, 12, 14, 16)

December 2021 Hiro 1/12th kit clue is up, and it looks like another Ferrari. Maybe F1 and a turbo???

I will look to see if I can find any matches.

Probably is my guess. They have the chassis done so I can see short tail and M versions, but maybe not for a few months. The 512M and coupe 512S(Sebring 1970 winner #21) are a must. The spider didn't win anything but the 512M should have, and it did win with the works SEFAC entry in late 1970 at South Africa. The 512M was as fast as hell in late 1970 at Austria as well. History would be different if the factory had run 512M's in 1971 instead of the 312PB.

Regarding the December Hiro release, that image looks like a Marelli generator driven off the center of the timing case of an inside-plug V12 - likely a 250.

This clue looks like early 1950's or late 1940's Ferrari or 166. But the generator mounts look slightly different than the photo I think. Maybe Marshall Buck knows.

Could be the 1949 Lemans winner or less likely the MM coupe.

I have the 1/24th Alpha Model Giulia Quad kit and it is an almost perfect resin curbside model, wow. Can't wait for the Roma.

I received the 1/12th Hiro 512S this morning and it does look really nice. When you order from Hiro direct you get it for less money and before everybody else :)

Looks like the December 1/12th Hiro is one of my least favorite Ferrari's, the 1947 Ferrari 125.

I wonder if Tamiya will make a kit of the new Daytona. 1/24 would be nice, 1/12 would be epic.

Well I guess it was only a matter of time before they made this. Will be interesting to see what details they miss, etc.

It all looks nice but I'm sure the fitment in a production kit will be the standard HIRO poor quality. It is a good idea to have less metal in the kit - so that the wheels and suspension don't deform under the weight of the body. my 917 has done just that - the pot metal is so weak the A arms bend under the weight of the wheels. ....

Well it will not be as good as yours I am almost certain, but Hiro seems to be trying harder after all the complaining customers have given about shapes, tire size, metal/resin poor fit. I am hoping they will do a proper body shape. This is another easy one to mess up.

Thank you Tom. I know if I made mine today (30 years later!!), there are many things I would improve on, but it was pretty darn good.

That's good to know that Hiro is trying to improve. As you said, "This is another easy one to mess up." Yes it is... especially since they are making at least two different Barchetta's.... 0008M and 0010M. NO two cars were exactly alike. Some many various details, which can drive any researcher/historian, and model maker insane. Hope they do a good job on this one.
