Hello Everyone, There is a group of people in Japan that are crazy about the F355. If you may recall, a few years ago I posted some pictures about their 25th anniversary celebration of the F355. They try to get together every year with weather (and now coronavirus) permitting. Since the coronavirus in Japan had a bit of a reprieve this last weekend they were able to hold a gathering of 21 F355s. The organizer reports that it was supposed to be 22 but on the day of the event one was not operating and therefore only 21 were able to participate. Just thought I would share the pictures. All photographs copyright and are posted here with permission. Some day when the virus subsides and my schedule allows, I hope to attend their gathering. Next year will be near Mt. Fuji. Very cool! How do they stay in touch? Is it an informal group or is there a forum or Facebook group or something?
Japan LOVES their F355's. It's been a cult classic there for a long time. Values were always kind of higher there...last year or so they're higher this side of the pond.
There isn't a Facebook group that I know of, but the organizer kindly emails everyone every now and again with updates to the event, ect. That they do. I believe superfan would be appropriate. I am convinced the reason why the challenge wheels (or challenge seats, or challenge anything for that matter) have gone up so much in price is because everyone in Japan bought them.
They use a Japanese blog site where members are connected. Sort of like Instagram, but with blogging vs. just pictures.
In case the 355 doubters/haters need another smackdown........21 out of 22 making it to the event without breaking down on the way in cars that are 20+ years old is pretty impressive. Congratulations to all who made it there.
Damn. I've been to Tokyo and Osaka. Judging from the map, Nogaya is in the middle of nowhere. But seems relatively close to Suzuka Circuit. I'd be interested if they had something going on closer to Tokyo.
