On the heavily camouflaged mules, the back looks more like a Cayenne coupé or an AMG GLE coupé, in comparison with the older Levante-bodied mules that looked more like « standard » Cayenne and Levante.

I've been trying to interpret what kind of rear the mule is hiding underneath the black camouflage. The rear black cover wrinkles show at the top what appears to be a spoiler lip with a kind of U shape suggesting that the rear design could be more coupé oriented. However, this is only a supposition and I wouldn't be surprised if that is only an illusion trick used by Ferrari to fool us.

    a leak?

I didn't follow the thread, so maybe it's an old picture: it looks like a photoshop of various Ferrari models front, and it doesn't match very well with the running pre production car.
The only rumor I heard about that car is that the rear doors are opening like Rolls Royce doors, with the handle in their left part and not in the right part as usual (I don't know how to tell this in English: here they are called "controvento", it means "against the wind direction"). This is given as 100% probability.

    ciao

The render you posted shows the front section of a "Ferrari" travestied of Urus and I'm sure that's the last thing a Purosangue will look like. Based on the latest pictures of the Purosangue mule front section artist WALTERDEPIPSA has created this render which appears to be a pretty good interpretation of what is hidden underneath the black cover.

We call them suicide doors, because they are more likely to be hit by passing traffic.

This looks much more credible: just add the suicide rear doors: rear doors are very short, you couldn't fit in if they weren't suicide

agree with this...think they ll have to, also to justify the price...need to be a blow out on performance...think this will be the first 1000 hp SUV...this is pure speculation on my end...but given BWM is coming out with 750hp for less than 1/2 of the price I think F needs to go way over

I believe they are called suicide doors because (a) if the car rolls forward, they will hit anyone trying to get or out of it and also (b) because the rushing air would keep them wide open in case they got unlatched on the move.

Yes we can clearly see the suicide doors on the camouflaged mule. the fabric is continuous toward the back so a normal door could not be opened. But we can see the zip at the top of the door frame, which proves that the doors are supposed to be opened with the camo on. And that is only possible if they are rear hinged.

I always thought it was because if someone hit the door while you were getting in or out, the door would slam on you instead of being torn away from you. Of course if a drive by hit any door while you are exiting, it is probably a bad outcome…

I think @day355 reference to 2025 is going full EV and at some point after, full EV on everything...except for, maybe, exclusive models; not because they are selling a 4 door hatchback (I just do not see it being an SUV, it looks like a cross-over)

I think you are on a subject that you do not master, and I write it again without problem, in 15 years Ferrari will be a service company and will not resist the electrification of the range!
This is my point of view, and I'm not the only warning person to think so.
In 1993 Ferrari hit rock bottom and without FIAT it was over ... don't think things stand still ...

Will these be full sized true suicide doors or convenience “half doors” like the rear doors on cab and a half pick up trucks? I suspect the latter. Regardless either will require a B pillar- shame….

I respect your view but disagree. Cars, for those of us who are so passionate about them, have always equaled more than the sum of their parts. For those who feel that emotion is completely dependent on the sounds a car makes, the vibrations you feel even while stationery, I completely respect that opinion. A Ferrari, however, is not just a car. To me.

We survived many transitions. From carburetors to fuel injection, from manual transmissions to flappy paddles. We will survive the transition to batteries. I trust that Ferrari will find a way to still make beautiful machines that are built on emotion, regardless of the method of propulsion.

Other companies make cars. Ferrari makes emotional performance machines. I don’t see why that has to change just because the propulsion system changes.

    Maybe I’m just an optimist.

Below are side by side the last spotted Purosangue mule with the black cover vs the other mule that has a Levante body. The pictures of both mules were taken from identical angles and their comparison shows the following:

    - The black mule ride height is higher.

    - The black mule bonnet appears to be longer and have more curvaceous lines

    - The black mule has a more voluminous rear side, has no rear window shade and its profile lines are
comparable to the ones of some coupé SUVs.

    - The rear highest point shows the lip of what appears to be a spoiler.

Once more, thank you @MDEL for your continuous researches, posts, pics and analysis about this first Ferrari SUV!

I’m really impatient to see what they are preparing, in terms of styling, onboard life, infotainment, and driving experience…

A new side by side comparison of the latest spotted Purosangue black mule vs the mule that has a Levante body, forces me to make a correction to what I wrote on post # 1919. The bonnet of the black mule which appeared to be longer than the one of the mule with the Levante body, in this new comparison seems to have a similar length.
The big difference between the two mules continuous being at the rear. The black mule has a more voluminous rear side with lines similar to the ones of some coupé SUVs.

Wow. Needs to go on a diet. The Levante is not even a large SUV.
