Thanks for all the comments. I figured out the problem with the trunk latch and now it is working properly.
As some people have expressed interest, but are worried about shipping costs, I'm lowering the price to $7000 to help with the shipping costs. This does not include shipping or the extra set up wheels. Actually, let's make it $6995 firm. Remember, this car has already had the cam variator repair, which cost over $7000. Thanks.
Man, I only wish it had a salvage title, then maybe I could buy it for $3,000! I cannot believe what a deal this is.
No longer Chrysler at that point, but rather FIAT. This is FChat's deal of the decade. Can you confirm the date of production? Was it late 2006 or 2007?
Thanks for your question. Sticker in the driver's door states that the car was produced in March 2007.
The problem with the trunk not opening was a weak plunger which pops the trunk open when the latch releases. I replaced the plunger with a new one and it is working fine now. Interestingly this same part is used on a number of Ferraris. Surprisingly, the Ferrari part was only $20, which is Image Unavailable, Please Login much cheaper than the Maserati part even though they are the same. Usually the Ferrari part costs more than the Maserati part.

I have a 2005, with the F1 trans. It is my favorite car to drive. I have straight pipes so it is loud! in my opinion the only better sounding car I've heard is an F40. Anyhow the reason I am writing this is in case the new owner or anyone else with the sticky button issue might read this. I see in the photos it is bad in this car. I took mine out of storage after 18 months because my wife's DD was in the shop and I was going on a golf trip with a buddy. I had to let my wife use my DD and I figured can easily fit two sets of clubs and luggage in the Maserati. So, messing around with the car getting ready for my trip. And I try this stuff my wife bought at Costco, Window cleaner. I sprayed it on the dash and it seemed to be doing something. Holy crap. I soaked a rag and rubbed and rubbed (very lightly) and all of a sudden it seems the sticky stuff dissolved and was gone. MY dash looks like brand new. She bought tis stuff because it was ammonia free. We just remodeled ur bathroom and the new mirror was bleeding. meaning the silver for the mirror was coming off and the manufacturer told us that it was ammonia in normal glass cleaner that was causing this.
