My recently acquired 1982 308 GTSi is missing it's original Emissions / Smog Pump.
While I won't put a belt on it, Id like to get the parts to put it back to original.
Would anyone be willing to post a few pictures of the pump & it's connections so that I know what I'm looking for?
Thanks in advance & Happy Thanksgiving!

You do have one of the F models/versions that, AFAIK, no F part supplier has the SPC online, but you can get a copy of the Spare Parts Catalogue for 1981-82 US version 308i here (another FChatter had graciously sent it to me):

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/6trvn000tscatc8/Spare Parts Catalogue 81-82 US version 308i 222_81.pdf?dl=0

Another resource for you would be the figures and useful text in your 216/81 OM like this:

Do you have a copy of the 216/81 OM?

PS It would kind of be a mistake to restore the system and not install the V-belt to the air pump. The air injection nozzles and air injection manifolds will suffer greatly if the air pump is not driven. If you do a search using "air injection nozzles" you should get many prior threads that will give you more information about this issue.

Not running the belt seems to also result in carbon grit getting into the air pump and ruining it when you do put the belt on. I thought it was just me, but in a conversation with a F mechanic he mentioned the same thing.

    Thanks for the replies.
Based on what you have said, I'll probably gather the parts and not install them.
I wonder if anyone has what I need sitting on a box in their garage!

That's a good strategy IMO (and never hurts resale). When I lived in CA, with inspections every other year, I would reinstall the system for state testing and then remove it until the next test; however, when I moved to CO, with annual inspections, I just left it all in place.

Very possible. Have your air injection manifold and air injection nozzles also already been removed and replaced by appropriate threaded plugs?

Yup, you are 100% correct. I do!
But I'm working under a time crunch.
The dealer I bought the car from said it had all the emissions equipment, but it does not.
So I need to get him a list and/or price to compensate me for the lack of promised equipment.

Studied the drawings and the car.
Fortunately, she's only missing the pump, shield and brackets.
    Thanks for the help!!

I have an 81 308 GTSI that I purchased a few years ago out of state and brought it into Southern California. It also did not have any of the smog equipment, I had to put it all together but it was actually quite easy. The smog pump is an AC Delco pump the diverter valve and the solenoid valves are easy to get. If you need help send me a private message and I'll give you my telephone number and walk you through it.

Thanks very much for the reply and the offer to talk.
I may have lucked out on this though.
The mechanic that has serviced the car for the last 30+ years says he knows what he took off the car.
And, he has the missing parts.
Maybe not the exact parts from my car but......
Not only that but the guy I bought the car from is paying for and shipping the parts to me.
So I think I'm good for now.
If that changes, I'll surely reach out.
    Thanks again!
