I have this mental image of someone in Saudi Arabia watching the Indycar Nashville street course and thinking, "Hey! We can do worse than that." ;)

What a complete **** show from top to bottom.

Frankly I wouldn’t mind seeing Max just say “screw it” and take Lewis out first corner of the final race. Might as well go down in a hellacious blaze of glory.

IMO these guys aren’t Champions and this is no longer F1. It’s a rigged media circus manipulated for likes and shares.

Well, at least Max (with one more win) is in a position to do a Senna (as in 1990, Suzuka, vs. Prost/Ferrari) and torpedo him from behind at the first corner.

HAM would have nothing to say about it because Max would be taking a page from HAM’s hero’s playbook, right?

Never understood how the self-righteous HAM could idolize such an unethical *****.

Yeah, unfortunately he helped redirect Villeneuve and stopped him from beaching himself at the outside of the curve.

HAM hero Senna just torpedoed Prost from behind and didn’t even bother to make it look like it wasn’t on purpose.

Nice to see someone else see that JV wasn't Mr Clean in the Jerez incident.

Either way the FIA DQ'd Schumacher from the WDC and so any contact from Max that results in a LH finishing behind will result in a penalty severe enough to ensure LH is world champion.

With no technical évolutions allowed during the second part of this season, the Mercedes is clearly now faster than the RB16B..
Who could sincerely believe this fable ?
Verstappen is racing hard because he can’t fight alone this Mercedes, simple as that.
He deserves this championship so much.

By the way I'm really happy that red bull is crying all over the place, I still remember how they robbed Ferrari of a wdc when mid season they cried to have the tyre change and robbed Alonso of a wdc. Unfortunately for Vettel time put everybody in his place as Alonso predicted.

Yep. Look at the overhead shot...it was so obvious max was slowing down. Lewis himself said post race hé didn't want to overtake him there. Thats not how it works, Lewis! You get given the place back and you take it, you don't wait for the better place and you certainly don't crash into the driver in front and claim "confusion". The FIA is clearly complacent in all this. Max gave the place bsck twice, yet got given 2 penalties for doing as instructed. **** f1, **** Lewis, **** the FIA, and **** Mercedes.

    My analysis:
    - it started of course) one lap earlier, where LHdid almost overtake MV, but MV had to miss the chicane to stay ahead.
LH was very smart/shrewd to take the longer way back onto the track in that chicane, displaying clearly that MV had gained an advantage.
Of course MBteam and LH have discussed that on the radio. And of course LH will have said something that he needs that position as it was unfair.
And there he was right, Max had gained an advantage by leaving the track.
And of course MB will have said to LH that they will appeal to Michale Masi. And as it is custom to give the place back or face a time penalty, LH knew very well that MV would give the place to him within a minute or so. So LH knew something would happen as from that moment.
Most likely on a straight, as it is dangerous to give up a position in the SS'es.
No way there was confusion. For a bystander perhaps, but not for both teams and drivers.
    Confusion is a simple excuse.
And of course LH knew that the worst moment for him would be the beginning of the straight, with DRS detection line nr 3.
The radiocontact between MV and RB (to give the place to LH) was heard at that particular moment, but was undoubtedly not real time (but like 20 seconds before or so.) So most likely MB knew it as well earlier, and at least they will have warned LH that MV would give it back.

LH knew MV would give it back at the worst possible place, and therefore did slow down as well instead of fully excellerating.
No way a slowing car on the beginning of the straight and a fully excellerating car would not have hit each other within a second. That did not happen.
Instead, LH slowed as well, knowing that MV would try to force him to pass before the detection line.
So he had just one chance, and that is accelerating so hard just before overtaking MV, that the DRS that MV would have gotten , was not enough.
And so he did, but in the process hit the car of MV.
So LH got paid back in clever thinking (where to give up that position), and screwed up overtaking MV. Causing a collision.
But instead MV got 10 seconds penalty...

So did we get a new rule from the FIA that you can't give back in the DRS detection zone, Lewis's point in the first place. Shows Mad Max's race tactics are dirty as usual if new rule is the result of Max's clever thinking.

    Deserve? Really?

How - RedBull placed him on mediums. His rears tires were gone as Max stated on the radio. He lost. Call Masi
Call Horner and Marko. He didnt deserve poll. He crashed LOL. You deserve a win when you cross the line in first. You get pole with the fastest time.
When Max looks in the mirror today. Thats who lost it yesterday. He will win the title if he keeps the car on track, avoids crash and crosses the line first in Yas.

Thats how you win. Not by getting gifts in Brazil. Literally. Then complaining no gifts were given in Jeddah because he was penalized. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you do not.

Yes he deserves it on the sporting level in the sense that he spends his time compensating an obvious technical inferiority against this Mercedes team.
This is from the level of Prost in 1986 or Alonso in 2012.
    But only my opinion..

What a prizefight of a race in that dark, dank little hellhole.

Not ecstatic with the results but I was pleased both cockroaches made it out of the epicentre to finally settle the battle at Yas.

Now if only they could somehow relocate the final round title fight to Spa. That's a circuit on which I'd love to see them "play for it all".
