There's a bit of work ahead of him. The problem with these things is parts, both cost and availability - the labour is straight-forward.
I estimate he made about 200-500k with his mclaren videos. That's the only way you can justify the costs for these kind of projects. Plus he got a couple of nice sponsors. Cool that such things are possible today. The car is in good hands. Interested to see the many manufacturing oddities he is going to find just like with the McLaren.
Some great examples of top quality Italian welding he's uncovered there. I foolishly thought that standards had improved since the days of the F40 when Stephano Wonderi was lead chassis fabricator at Ferrari.
Gated Swap candidate. I hope he does NOT do some silly liberty wide body click bait kit, or silly TTurbo kit..... But I'm and old man and out of touch.
New what a click bat kit was. I'm a little on the younger side at 40 and what I see with this style generation is all for click bate and no passion
Its always all about the clicks... "LOOK AT THIS DISASTER OF A CAR I BOUGHT" ... which turns out to start up on the button with no fault codes...
Click bait or not…..I’m excited to watch this one develop. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
He does, but it takes a while because like most YouTuber's he multiplexes projects while waiting on parts. This is how he wound up with 30 cars in various states of repair. Ferrari won't be as bad as McLaren, but I think this project will still be one of those where he is waiting on parts.
Should be fun to watch the progress. Also nice to see one that needs more work than mine LOL! Grateful at least mine has never been bent!
Pros and. Ons but no doubt super interesting Not something you normally get to see Thank you for sharing
Indeed. I'm enjoying seeing all the hidden bits in the frunk (aircon, brake & steering plumbing, wiring, etc).
What we need here is someone local to Tavarish better still friends with him. We need the loan of his CF door cards, then have someone local make a mould of them start remaking them in CF at a reasonable cost. Me figures there's a demand out there at the right price and i guess that cars not goin anywhere in a hurry . Anyone friends with him??... Cheers
It’s kind of nice having them exclusively on the Scud Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I totally saw that black Ferrari at FerrParts (engine fire damaged car and I snapped a quick picture). 99% sure the missing front bumper out of that box of parts is on my car now.
Would be interesting to know. I'm watching this with interest. I've always been curious how these pros "graft" in critical structural parts making sure to get the dimensions EXACTLY correct. I can also see why a car with this type of post-collision work might be a bit of a gamble. I'm the type of guy that might take that kind of risk, but definitely only if its had a loooong track record of years of solid, one-owner performance post repair
It needs to be close… then shims are used for any fine tuning. this fronk replacement appears to not affect wheel suspension geometry… but rather front panel fitment. awesome project!
Unless they had an issue with their welding the gap on the front bumper can be improved. I forget the thread that mentioned the tips but something like tightening the side mount brackets first before the front bolts. Not to diminish the effort but just says to me, yeah this car has been in an accident. Image Unavailable, Please Login Perhaps the white shows even worse.
I am guessing they rushed the installation of the bumper and didn't get the gaps right. The big question is that Freddy used EAG to turn it into a 6 speed manual. They mention not changing the throwout/release bearing and that they didn't need to remove the transmission but did only to inspect the bearing. I thought that the seal on the bearing had to be changed for compatible fluid with the manual clutch with the EAG kit or did they move to something like Dr. S where there is a separate clutch reservoir system. Or am I not understanding the EAG conversions correctly.
looks great, think it would benefit from a stripe the wheels look sensationally good on the scud .... though I know totally impractical gutting the SF2 transmission for a manual is vandalism imo, the scud gearchange is extraordinarily entertaining, I'd never swap mine for a clutch ... but hey, horses for courses
