Worlds fastest 612

Mike- Takes a long time to get up to speed on one of our V12s. My 575M is supposed to go 202 mph, but it would probably take a 10 mile straight to get there.

This sounds fun!

I reached 285km/h (on GPS) on mine once. Touched 270km/h (on speedo) several times.

As Terry mentioned, above 270 or so, it takes a while to accelerate.

The car feels really stable at high speed...It feels more stable at 250 than 140, if it makes sense. Don't know why, but this is how my car feels.

Would love to try its maximum speed. Maybe soon.

(* all speed tests were accomplished on a closed racetrack, following ALL safety procedures)

In 2018 the FCA Annual event had a "taste of the track" at Watkins Glen. I took my 2008 OTO out with an instructor. When we got back to the paddock my wife asked how fast I had gone. I had a blank look and said you know I have no idea, I never looked at the speedometer, only the tach. The instructor said on one of the last laps I hit 145 mph.

The car felt well planted the whole time. I also had Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on the car.

 

I've hit 250 km/hr on the autobahn.

 

I've seen 160 mph on the track. That was from the passenger seat with my brother (serious racer) driving. That said, it felt fine, and when I was driving I might have been going close to that but I was too busy to look at the speedometer!

I've seen 140 mph on the highway.

At those speeds, it still has plenty more to go.

 

This is true indeed. I hit 189mph (304km/h) on the German autobahn, and the car was still pulling like a train. This was the GPS figure, the speedo was showing 195mph (313km/h). And yet more to go, quite impressive, also how stable the car is at high speed. The long wheel base certainly helps.

 

I haven't measured it but it takes a couple of kilometers of a straight and clear 3-lane autobahn, that's for sure. It's quite an experience, and you really need to be on it and super focused.

 

So no texting at 195 mph?

 

I don't know how it is at 195, but at 140-160 it's pretty darn stable.

5th gear against the rev limiter (increased to ~7950 )

 

Gear shifting was nice. What year is the car?

 

2008 pre-OTO. TCU firmware is the last one before OTO.

 

6-1 headers modified downpipes and sports cats. Rest of the exhaust stock sports exaust + Capristo valve controller. ECU a bit tuned and rev limiter +500rpm.
