I know, but I'm not THAT OCD. besides, it's easier done with 6 sides as opposed to one slot.

I did the same. Couldn’t take the misaligned slotted screws.

Ha, I also line up the screw slots. I might change to the socket head cap screws. They are famous for discolouring. (rust) Can be painted though.

    Just joking my friend. ;)
But truth be told for the life of me I cannot understand why a car made in this century (especially a Ferrari) still has a slot head screw on it to secure anything.

I don't stock even one in my hardware bin in my shop. Simply not allowed. But I do have quite a selection of stainless socket heads, socket button heads, and more! Any slot head screw found gets removed and replaced -- on the custom builds but not on the restoration cars of course.

And yes, the details like this matter.

They are tin coated which is not anodized. 2 completely different processes. Tin coated uses done with PVD (physical vapor deposition), a vacuum process applicable to the deposition of a number of different metals and alloys. ... "Anodizing" is an electrochemical "wet" (aqueous) process where the work is made anodic to convert the metal on the surface of the item to an oxide.
Not being smart but two different ways

One benefit of the slotted fasteners is that if you take care to line them all up in one direction you can tell later if they are moving! Which is frequently given the vibrations of this engine!

To the ocd...aren’t the screws oem ferrari? So your cars are not Original? Where is the trade off between slots misaligned and the wrong fastener?

I put the original slotted screws back on the car for a recent Concours but for everyday use the hex heads go back on the car.
